Wasn't their news some time ago that Aselsan exported Sensors and Optics to Patria?
Now Patria won a tender in Germany.
So will they buy again from Aselsan?

Germany usually picks their own national subsystems. I would be very surprised if Aselsan gets a share of the deal.

I agree, we should focus on markets we can export to, and developing an indigenous engine and proving it by using it on the platforms is the best way to reach new markets. I don't give much credit or have any expectations to any export news where we have to use foreign engine.

At least for Atak, Hürjet, Gökbey and such platforms. And this of course if the market is a non western/european market. So Asia, Africa, South America and such. US and west will hinder us.

Why only Egypt?
In their KAP statements, Aselsan usually mentions the region accurately. It would either say Middle East customer or an Africa customer. and 78 million worth of air Electrooptics sale is just too big for any other African customer. I wouldn't be surprised if this was an Aselpod sale for Egyptian F-16s.

Neither are considered Middle East in the original meaning of the world. And Aselsan doesn't refer to ME as MENA.

Two recent ones:
From Oct 31
"ASELSAN and UAV manufacturers have signed sales contracts with a total amount of 10.3 Million USD regarding the export of electro-optical payloads for the end use of some countries in Asia-Pacific and Africa."

From Dec 30
"ASELSAN has signed an export contract with a customer located in the Middle East with a total amount of 42 Million USD regarding the direct sales of air platform payloads."

Repkon signed a contract with a German company to build a filling facility for 155mm munitions in Germany.

"- Repkon has signed a contract with one of Germany's leading ammunition manufacturers for the installation of a turnkey facility for the explosive filling of 155 millimeter artillery ammunition
- The facility, which will be operational in early 2027, will be able to fill modern, new generation explosives with high destructive power in addition to traditional ammunition, and will contribute to Germany's supply security in this field."

Why are we helping them even if money certainly played a major role in this decision?
They have blocked and sanctioned us wherever they could.
Even with the Eurofighter deal, they only agreed to it because of the immense pressure from the other consortium members and the consequences for Germany. I would not support Germany militarily, they are simply too unreliable.

I have to say, I don't really understand this point of view.

Firstly, Germany was, presently is and will continue to be a large defence partner to Turkey in the future. We build our frigates and will build our destroyers with German engines, we build our submarines with German license, we built our drones with German cameras through intermediaries when Canadians didn't sell us, and hopefully we will be a part of the Eurofighter family. Just last year we signed ESSI with Germany pushing for joint air defence buy programs. All these are not past, they are present programs. Reis Class doesn't work without German okay or German companies. Reis Class construction is not moving forward free from German involvement, it's moving forward because Germans are finally working with us as they should.

German army is small, it's ineffective and lacks many basic necessities, but it is still the armed forces of the largest economy on the continent. There's this cloud of thinking that as if our defence relationship with Germany is behind us and we've rid ourselves of German dependency. It isn't, if anything, it's set to grow even larger now. With Americans being unreliable, our defence contracts with Europeans will only increase. Where do you think all those billions worth of contracts MKE and other private munitions builders signed are coming from? Germans are either one of the recipients for most or they are indirectly bankrolling it with EU and government funds for any contract in the EU.
