Moroccan defense firm MMI/ Moroccan military industries​

99% of MMI's staff, including engineers, are Moroccan. Everything shown by MMI at MAS is already produced in Morocco, or will be within the next few months. That includes the following:

- UT30 MK2/MK3 turrets
- the Iron Sting mortar systems
- ALL TYPES of medium- to large-calibre ammunition for tanks, IFV, air defense role etc.


MMI has a weapons systems facility in the Midparc industrial zone near Casablanca, while a second plant in Sidi Yahya, north of Rabat. The company hopes to use Morocco as a platform ⁠for exports, Naor said. "We will have a European NATO country to export to," he said, declining to identify the customer.

Moroccan two-defense industrial zones


The two dedicated defense industrial zones managed by SGZID total 675 hectares. The Defense Industrial Zones Management Company (SGZID) has concluded 10 new agreements with defense companies to establish production facilities in Morocco. This raises the number of contracted firms to more than 20.

The 10 companies that have been revealed to open production lines in Morocco are the following.

Arquus: Armored vehicles.
Marcotec: Simulation and integration.
MKU: Soldier gear and protective equipment.
Inkas: Armor plating and armored solutions.
ABA TECH: Defense technologies and solutions.
BAL TEQ DEFENSE: Soldier gear.
Harmattan AI: Manufacturing of "IRIFI" and "GOBI" loitering munitions
Shibli: Manufacturing of optical equipment, surveillance systems, and sighting systems.
EDGE: Production of rifles, small arms, and propulsion systems.
