Probably the greatest football player ever is no more. RIP. I actually have a Diego shirt and Argentina jacket in his honour. It was back in 1980s that this pocket rocket came to my attention.

Football legend Diego Maradona, one of the greatest players of all time, has died at the age of 60.

The former Argentina attacking midfielder and manager suffered a heart attack at his Buenos Aires home.
He had successful surgery on a brain blood clot earlier in November and was to be treated for alcohol dependency.

Maradona was captain when Argentina won the 1986 World Cup, scoring the famous 'Hand of God' goal against England in the quarter-finals.

Very sad, RIP.

My (live) memory of him on field is very hazy and relegated to only the 1990 world cup where he was somewhat past prime already. 1994 he was caught doping early and kicked out iirc.

But footage of him in 80s, arguably the best ever player along with Pele imo.
