The 12 infantry combat vehicles from the Jutland Dragon Regiment and the 120 soldiers from the Ruder 4 company have been training intensively in the American training ground Grafenwöhr since Thursday last week.
The actual transport of the infantry combat vehicles from Grafenwöhr to Holstebro takes two days, as the block wagons from the unit Svær Transport can only drive at night according to German law. And with a speed limit of 60 km / h, it takes several days to move the heavy load.
There are 979 kilometers from Holstebro to Grafenwöhr. But Simon, head of the Ruder 4 company, has no doubt that the trip to the German forests is well worth it:
“We have some opportunities down here that we have enormous difficulty in recreating in Denmark. It is the largest shooting and training terrain that we have in Northern Europe and it gives us some opportunities to have sniping in the woods. We can have overtaking with vehicles and we can put together some maneuvers of a size and context that we have difficulty finding terrain for in Denmark. ”
Watch video from Grafenwöhr, where the armored infantry company shoots sharply in the forest environment, urban environment and towards moving targets - both with machine guns and infantry combat vehicles.
