Pretty good piece tbh, as unbiased as it could be.

Is it? I think about 1/3 of the article is trying to put the blame on us for how our exports are being used while barely mentioning how Western exports have been and are actively being used in ethnic cleansing and does not mention all the weapons they are selling to India while Modi and his Hindu nationalists purposefully target Muslim minorities.

Not really. You can't both say "why is nobody is talking about things we do." and "why are they looking at things we do?" Writing a piece on Turkey's drones alone is perfectly valid. India angle here is only whataboutism and doesn't mean anything. It plays on the now a decade old is drones a humane way of fighting war question with a new eye, mentions the attacks in which were civilians killed that was blamed on TB2s, says there are no corroborative evidence to suggest that was the case. Ends the piece on "it's pretty good, maybe could be more responsible". Answer that should be given here is not "What about Indian muslims tho???", it's to reiterate the same points piece already gave a voice to(which is usually just overlooked in all other media), that we have our own systems in place re exports and drones have been a net positive for countries that have been suffering from militants for decades. Non defence related publications like Crisis Group writing this up is a step in the good direction in my opinion.

Sorry bro ! But I can’t really agree with what you have written..
First of all, your India example is a cheap way to prove a point. There are many countries that do not abide by rules when it comes to your point of view. We are witnessing that everyday today in Gaza!
This site is a peace promoting entity’s mouth piece. So it is normal to expect peace orientated bottom line.
I read the whole article, and can truthfully say that there is no negative specific point being made against Türkiye. At least it has much more balanced sentiment than being a negative mouth like a lot of our so called allies who embargoes us right left and centre, whilst closing their both eyes when it comes to self criticising themselves.
It in fact is a fairly good advertisement for Turkish drone industry and Baykar.

All this convo starting with boredaf post should maybe be moved to another thread (Turkish mods can choose which one is best).

A) If Turkiye cares about the matter commensurately, it would surely have not engaged in military sales to the remnant-half of the country that actually murdered the most civilian Muslims (and non-Muslims) at scale in the region during 1971 (and then losing that half of the country as the result). That was an altogether different level/scale (and coordinated intent) of what goes on in subcontinent in any other year after partition.

B) Clearly Turkiye has its interests in the end like any other country right? Same as the West, China and others w.r.t their nature of providing defence items to said country post-71 after the scale of atrocities were established.

C) It is also Turkiye that is in NATO, a collective security arrangement with many countries that officially recognise events regarding the Armenian population during WW1 as a genocide. Maybe address that first with those countries (US, Germany included among them) as this is another level of defence cooperation with them far above defence trade. These are the same set of countries that also have their agendas regarding certain Kurdish groups and their political objectives, again with various allegations made at scale (regarding minority oppression and ethnic cleansing) against the Turkish state that continues in NATO regardless.

D) Sticking with just Muslims though, how many (civilians) died in the Iraq and AFG wars and have any reparations and apology been made (especially where indiscrimate targetting employed)? If not, what precedence does it set with western economic bulking, investment and trade with China and India, defence or otherwise pertaining to all the contours of core interests first....and wherever say the Uighur concentration camps and increased societal tensions of Muslim minorities of India figure in that chain much lower.

E) Or for that matter the number of civilians (Muslim or otherwise) indiscriminately killed by Iran and Russia in cooperation with Assad to achieve their shared objectives in Syria....and the burden this has placed on Turkiye border areas for example (and drawn out its own blood and treasure for use in Syrian border regions for Turkish security interests). Has the Turkish govt really commensurately crafted its policy with Iran and Russia in full deference to these sordid events specifically or has it weighed other interests too?

F) Is it appropriate anyway to mention "Muslim" or just minorities wherever they are (and discriminations and worse overlooked in light of larger interests countries put collectively in geopolitics), given the Secular edifice of Turkish republic?

1 Pakistan is nuclear power and by that definition is not remnant country, no matter how you would like to potrey it. Also , it is the only country that has possibility to help Turkey in that matter.
2 the scale of atrocities were established also 1948 etc by India, moreover India illegally occupies Kashmir
3 I don't even understand what are you trying to say here. It seems to me that you think that Turkey should recognise so called Armenian Genocide or give some autonomy or something else to Kurds, in order to get a some engine from Germany? Unclear to me
4 Turkey has the relation with many companies. Still unclear what you are trying to say
5 it is a long subject
6 for example India is nomnaly secularist country. As I can see on daily basis, India would love to expelled every single Muslim and at least part of them to Turkey. Also , Turkey still has a great standing among the various Muslim nations and groups, so Turkey can have more widespread influence then India.
10 embargoes were in place even when Turkey was looking inwards, so whatever political outlook is in Turkey, it doesn't change anything.
For basically nothing on return, Turkey couldn't allow that. Turks need to ask Greec. If they can take a swim in Antalya or that Greek sea borders are touching Tunisian onse.
Turkey wasn't that France together with alleged enemy of the West, Warner carved out yet another chaotic " democratic " place in Libya.
Turkey wasn't ready to fulfil, Russian and Western wish that Karabakh be assimilated to Armenian and provide the prosperity to Armenia.
Kurds, I don't need to mention. Do you think that, Turkey should bend over to kurds to get almost nothing from the world? Or let Cypriots be annihilated or absorbed?
Or what is to do in Syria, it is primarily USA that ensured Assad survival, Iranian and Russian presence in Syria. Iraq is kinda similar story.
What for Turkey can be gained? A few more trade deals? Some assembly plants in Mersin ? Maybe few jobs in the central Asia to make Western shit nicely packaged or something similar in some African countries? By the way , even that thing in Central Asia is dubious. It is not much question why Turkey does that and this but actually what is needed from Turkey? What exactly? As far as I can see , some people want soon much for Turkey to be petted " Good boy and now you have A+++ in inclusivity, human rights, transparency and index of ease of doing the business " ?
Turkey has always been a prominent country, do you expect that after failed attempt 100 years ago to kill off that country, that today's Republic will allow, that they are killed in different matter.
By the way, I am a European and I know exactly what is asked from ass.
