New radar

I know nothing of this new radar but it was spotted in a video in the same factory where ESR-32A was produced.

I will update this next EDEX 2020 in December when information comes out. There were rumors of a Phased array 3D radar with 450 km range that was found by members talking to engineers. It may be shown but it is not confirmed, only thing confirmed is that short range radar on the top.

Looks like a old sovjet junk radar from movies.
Haha, something may not look good but may function well. Funny thing is that is it is based off an American radar not Russian.

Was the P-18 radar looking good when it detected and helped shoot down the F-117 my friend?

I think it looks very nice, actually. If it works well too, good job Egypt!
Now, let's sign an EEZ agreement with Turkey and then we can combine our forces and show these Western infidels what Muslims can do when they unite around common principles of peace and prosperity of the Islamic Ummah.

This was found in new Egyptian border force video, not sure if it is Egyptian made but others on other forums seem to suggest it.

Seems to be coastal

And one of the thermal imagers on it seem to be at least identifiable I think. The right one seems go be the D-39 thermal imager from AIO an Egyptian company.

Good effort @Philip the Arab

Carry on.

The harder part comes next.

Technology gets increasingly harder to master and scale the more you progress, or so it seems to me.

Right now, Egypt is working on coastal radars and using off the shelf components. Things that many established players in the market had done at some stage in the past, too.

But going on to develop a 3D phased array radar will be quite a lot more challenging. Let's see how Egypt fares, best wishes to our Egyptian brothers and sisters and friends and partners. :)

Let me correct you there, top one is not coastal it is for air targets actually. As far as COTS goes, yeah probably Egyptian designed and components either that are difficult to manufacture are imported from Chinese or others. The 250km range radar is actually based on an upgraded American radar called AN/TPS-63 converted to solid state. It stopped production sometime in the early 90s or late 80s so it is relatively outdated but it is still a good start in my opinion.

Check out this video, you can see inside factory.

I agree it will be very hard, I am not Egyptian but I am interested in all Arab countries development technologically. I thank you on behalf of others.

COTS or Commercial Off The Shelf components have been used throughout this radar.

Nothing wrong with it.

Just part of the learning curve.

I am not sure if the components are entirely Egyptian designed or not.

Do you have any evidence they are Egyptian designed?

Best wishes to our Egyptian brothers and sisters in any case.

It seems Egyptian engineers are on their way to develop and produce own products. National r&d should be encouraged more in Egypt. Congrats...

A system is being developed to detect the wavelength sectors being jammed. It allows the radar operator to switch bands because the system knows which ones are jammed and which are not.
