EU + The US want to create a new state between Iraq and Syria to secure Gas+Oil coming from the Gulf.

The European peoples never stop dreaming about causing trouble in the brown mans lands, while creating endless narratives about the evil Muslim.

They wanted this to happen to Turkey originally.

You sleep, you lose.

But what they want depends on what we are willing to give.

Our ancestors didn't sit on their arses waiting for Allah to do his magic thing.

The most basic thing any Turk can do is learn his history and learn the history of his rivals. That way the Turk reduces the ability of his enemies deceiving and manipulating him.

Still credit him for being successful in making the newly balkan countries too preoccupied with each other. He did prevent the balkan countries from starting a balkan war against the empire.

He did take a pragmatic approach to keeping his empire intact even avoiding war for 15 years.

No doubt there are mistakes and stupid approaches he took which costed the empire in the long run. But nothing wrong in giving a little credit.

Because the guys who brought Abdulhamid II were too busy fighting each other which led to Jemal, Enver and Talaat taking control in 1913.

Im not a abdulhamid II fanboy really but I do acknowledge the good he did while acknowledging the bad he did too.

Due to Iran being a playground in Ww1 between the Ottomans and the British/Russians would lead to Reza Shah doing a coup and the Pahlavi dynasty coming in control. Basically centuries of Turkic rule came to an end. Qajars were descended from Oghuz Turks.

Ottoman empire needed another Fatih Sultan Mehmed(Mehmed II the Conqueror) to keep things together he was certainly not a man of that caliber. Empire kept declining during his rule.

Enver, Cemal, and Talat took over the empire as the last hurrah and thought they might be able to save the empire with a big gamble as there was nothing else to do but they didn't know that they were not the men meant to play the hand they were dealt with similar to their predecessor Abdulhamit II. Every experienced statesman knew that the dying sick man was beyond saving. Big powers agreed to partition the lands of the empire by the late 1800s. Every big power of the time turned down the Ottoman offer of alliance before the WW1. Ottomans were kept alive by the grace of Great Britain big time and when the GB understood Ottoman Empire can't be kept alive artificially, GB thought it is better to split it on its term than the others. Ottomans did everything to side and participate in the WWI on the side of the Entente but were turned down. Ottomans then tried to replace Great Britain with Germany to cling to life. Even Germany was hesitant at first to ally with Ottoman Empire as they thought Ottoman empire will be a liability.
