December 9, 2020: The ministry’s future vision includes the launch of an integrated medium-range air defence system, the production of an Egyptian tank, and the design and manufacture of a protection system for armoured fighting vehicles.

Egypt has 95% localiztion for the M1A1 tanks, including the cannon



Egypt has 67 % localiztion for the K9, including cannon and some parts of the engine SMV 1000

Minister Mohamed Salah revealed another new industrial achievement in the military field, which is the development of the production of armored steel, which the Ministry of Military Production succeeded in manufacturing and developing up to a thickness of (30) mm from up to (15) mm, and a width of up to (240) cm from up to (150) cm, and the development is underway to reach a greater thickness and width, continuing that the localization of the technology of manufacturing armored steel contributes to achieving self-sufficiency from an important product that enters the production of tanks and combat armored vehicles, so that Egypt becomes one of the Only six countries globally are capable of producing this strategic product.
