The Gendarmerie General Command (Turkish: Jandarma Genel Komutanlığı) is the national Gendarmerie force of the Republic of Turkey. It is a service branch of the Turkish Ministry of Interior responsible for the maintenance of the public order in areas that fall outside the jurisdiction of police forces (generally in rural areas), as well as assuring internal security along with carrying out other specific duties assigned to it by certain laws and regulations. In wartime, some of its elements can be subordinated to Turkish Land Forces by the President

The Commander of the Gendarmerie reports to the Minister of the Interior.

The Gendarmerie has its roots in the Ottoman Empire military law enforcement organization "Subaşı" (later known as the "Zaptiye"). A similar, earlier force called "Şurta" existed during the medieval Seljuq Empire.

AFAIK gendermarie special force uses FN P90. Why don't turkish gun producers copy the gun. P90 has 5.7mm medium caliber that is perfect for 200 meters.
Special AP round can penetrate bulletproof vestd and doesn't have ricochette effect.

I found FN P90 very easy to produce. It has just blowback simple operation system and most of part polymer. Very easy and cheap.

If i had authority i would arm all turkish policemen with FN P90 turkish copies.

Sport success for the Turkish Gendarmerie!

In the WAKO Senior World Kickboxing Championship that was organized in Italia Gendarmerie Non-Commissioned Officer Dilara KELES 70kg managed to get a gold medal in the Kick Light branch. Gendarmerie Lieutenant Metin YURUK 91kg managed to get a silver medal in Full Contact.

Enlisted Sportsman Faysal SILIV 51kg took the silver medal in the K1 branch and Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Ismail KALE 74kg managed to get the bronze medal in the Kick Light branch.

Back in the days when two ferries were taken hostage by Chechen Militants and PKK suicide bomber, SAT had to intervene they infiltrated the ferry (from underwater) and neutralized the targets. Equipment like that is required for exactly such missions.
