Listen the Hurjet from the head engineer of Hürjet program
  • They will develop a AC variant for current/future AC program
  • Landing gears will be strengtened and a hook system will be integrated.
  • It was tested that Hürjet is able to take-off from ski-jump while loaded with 4000/5000lb munitions on simulation environment.
  • Hurjet will be able to perform joint operations with fighter drones and UCAV's.

It was a flawless first flight, as if he had been flying for years. In the simulation, he says that it can take off from the TCG Anadolu comfortably loaded, while taking off from the aircraft carrier will be a piece of cake.

He says that there are 3 computers inside and that it is a very digital/technological airplane. He says that it can fly together in coordination and network with UAVs, that the second pilot can be a gunner, etc.

HÜRJET & ASELSAN

-Internal Communication System (DHS300): It provides the management of the radios, receivers and audio warning devices on the aircraft, and the communication interface with the pilot and co-pilot. DHS300 meets the voice communication needs of users in high noise environments in a high quality and reliable manner digitally. The system specially developed for aircraft is compatible with DO-178B and DO-254.

-ASELSAN Air Inertial Navigation System (ANS-511): It is a navigation class airborne inertial navigation system with embedded SAASM capable global positioning system receiver designed for use in military aircraft. ANS-511 continuously provides linear acceleration, linear and angular velocity, position and orientation information to the system it is on. ANS-511 can provide integrated (Inertial + GPS), inertial only and GPS only navigation solutions at the same time. The ANS-511 is able to use external barometric altitude data to complement its integrated and inertial navigation solution. This system, specially developed for aircraft, is compatible with DO-178B and DO-254.

-9681 V/UHF Airborne Radio: It is a software-based radio that enables frequency hopping, encrypted and open voice/data communication with a new generation high performance digital infrastructure in VHF and UHF bands (30-512 MHz).

-IFF Mk XIIA(S) Responder: It has Mod 5/S features to meet the needs of today's military and civil air traffic control systems, in accordance with STANAG 4193 Version 3, Mode 1, Mode 2, Mode 3/A, Mode C, Mode It supports S and encrypted Mode 5 modes.

Does anyone know why the speed and payload of the Hürjet is lower than HAL Tejas and Kai T-50?

Don’t know about KAI T-50, but Tejas is an actual fighter. It has MTOW of 13500kg, twice or more than Hurjet.

I don't know but i have never seen taking off as an issue there, it is mostly about the landing which was always the challenging part in naval aviation. We need a training - test environment with digital twin of aircraft - ship - environmental conditions to practice design, avionics and pilots - automated landing software. It is upon shoulders of Havelsan to coordinate with respectable companies & institutes to enable this.

So far, and as far as i know, both Baykar and TAI treats landing strip as a fixed - translating object with no island wake or environmental conditions ( wind profile - wave profile ) taken into account. The training should take within a common software environment where whomever is the customer might be able to model their own aircraft.

All of the landing simulations of Baykar include (but are not limited to) sea state(that includes 3D movement roll, yaw, and pitch changes expected in that sea state), crosswinds, the friction coefficient of surfaces (includes the difference between wet and dry landing strip surface), the speed of the LHD, etc.

Baykar plans a naval KE with bigger canards to lower stall speed for a smoother landing.

Lol ,no.

There are only few* people who can model the 3D motion of the ship in TR and none involves with Baykar, so far.
They only used translational motion (surge) of a fixed landing strip in their simulations, with wind conditions they applied from land-based statistics ignoring island wake of the ship.

*few = all i know personally.

We will see because I asked this directly to the Baykar don't be surprised if TB3 starts take-off and landing trials on LHD next year. They are also training their AI with those advanced simulations. Their plan is also to conduct the first trials with KE on TCG Anadolu in 2025.

Our priorities are different then, of course this may change in the future, if we want him to be more warlike...for now for training

One of the stand-out features that Hurjet is suppose to get at some point in development is an aerial refuelling system.

A proposal to increase fuel tank and add aerial refueling to FA-50

Nope for the bold part, i am also in contact with several people from Baykar and i know everyone in TR who can simulate motion of a ship, and they tell otherwise for the ship motion and island wake, in fact they (team leader in Baykar) are telling they "aim" to initiate studies including motion of the ship and wake of the island within this year to train their auto pilot.

For the rest, they need to complete (or start) construction of land-shore based test facilities and prove their concept before attempting any trials on TCG Anadolu. This was also confirmed by I. Demir recently. The facility is not to start operations before midst of 2024.

I won't waste my time further.

Ok after watching the interview, the one thing he said that was news to me was, that Hürjet will be eventually turned into an unmanned version too.

I dont like it , Turkiye have many unmaned drones , hurjet should be turned in advanced CAS just like S korea Fa 50 .

Integrated Product Manager of HÜRJET Propulsion Systems Şahika Saç

FwBKfwCXoAAHhZg.jpeg

-One of the most important tests of HURJET is the first power-up test. In these tests, we test the correct operation of the electrical systems. There are engine start tests that follow. It was also a very important stage for our team. We did the engine integration and the first engine start test with this work.
The process of working in harmony with all sub-systems continued. Before the first flight, you need to make sure that all systems are working correctly, are fully integrated with each other, and that you do not see any errors in any of the systems. Because you carry the labor of many people and you carry a life in the plane. The plane was created with a lot of hard work and great devotion. We performed the flight very early on the first flight day, but we performed our test without getting too excited, as if we were doing a normal test. Thank God it was a beautiful flight and a beautiful landing.

-As of today, we have performed our 5th flight, HÜRJET has been in the air for more than 1 hour. We actually performed a faultless first flight. In our ongoing ground and flight tests, we continue our flight tests on the days and times deemed appropriate to improve the aircraft and test our other systems.

-As engineers, we work hard both in the office and in the hangar. When we ask, we have technician brothers who work their 40th and 50th hours at the plane. We, as engineers, also ensure that the test is finished or the system is done safely, without going to sleep, before going home, until we finish the job when necessary. We continue to work at the beginning of the plane until we are sure that he is doing it.
In general, there may be situations in companies such as forcing the employees to work overtime, but there is such a team here that everyone gets inspiration from each other. Not everyone really looks at the clock in an effort to get the job done.
He doesn't know the day. What day were we, what time were we, what working hour were we in? From time to time, we work without counting, we get tired, we sleep on chairs and tables, we sleep on cushions from time to time. All of this for a purpose, for our country, our children and our defense industry. Emotions are hard to hold, we get emotional while talking. The result is there. It is really nice to be able to get the results of your effort and sacrifices when it bears fruit.
