After the fourth crusade the city was not the same also the problem wasn’t with defense since they had the same walls for centuries but the problem was with finance and population.

notice even a weak divide Ottoman Empire under one prince was about to take the city if wasn’t for his brother who attacked him this was after Timur invasion.

You know the byzantine empire would have collapsed if it wasnt for their well defended capital.

Yes I know hence why the so called people who glorify it as big conquest like the battle of normady as just stupid because Byzantines were nothing in 1453.

It is a delusion to look at Istanbul, which was conquered 569 years ago, by dreaming of the Roman Empire or Byzantium. Those who yearn for 1000 years ago make it clear who is expansionist and who is an obstacle to peace.

Hagia Sophia, which has been used as a mosque for centuries, has been under the protection of the Turkish nation since 1453.

The fact that those who were supposedly sorry for Hagia Sophia did not oppose the demolition of mosques in Greece, each of which is a cultural heritage, from the 1500s, and the construction of cinemas, exhibition halls, accommodation, and warehouses in their place, is too serious to even be explained with hypocrisy.

The Greek administration, which does not even give a burial place to Muslims when they die, is trying to deceive its own people with crude illusions and try to cover up its dead-end realities. The sun is not covered with mud.

Ppl need to understand that the reason why the West is angry about Hagia Sophia being turned into a mosque recently isnt because it is an attack to secularism or such bullshit..... it is all about religious significance. Being turned into a mosque represents how one of the most prestigious Christian empries met its doom against the Ottoman Muslims. Till this day, the West cant get over their inferiority complex on how the Ottomans managed to dominate Europe in its prime. Just look at European history, it is mostky filled with various christian empires or kingdoms fighting against each other for hundreds of years to be the strongest and yet the Ottomans out of nowhere just inserted its middle finger deep into Europe at its prime and this is something they can never get over it till this day

Probably the main reason why Ataturk converted Hagia Sophia into a museum is to try and portray how the new republic is an ally and that it will not ever try to make a new Ottoman empire and that the new secularism of Turkey will ensure that the West is safe..... it was probably something akin to that and I cant really criticise the man since he did fight a war against a coalition of more technologically advanced countries and yet won; however, certainly Ataturk's army did suffer a lot of casualities

It truly amazes me how an empire that was destroyed nearly 100 years ago, still haunts the Europeans till this day and how it makes them feel inferior to the Ottomans, lool. This event literally marks how Islam won against Christianity and this is something the Christian Europeans will never accept no matter what

A proof of that is how the Christian Germans suffered the least consequences after WW1 while the Ottomans suffered the most even though the Germans were the main instigator of the events at the time

Hagia Sophia turned into a museum for 2 reasons.
1) It was a gesture for the convention of Montreux
2)It is an old tired building full of masterpieces, artwork, and artifacts. It needs conservation and masses should be kept out of it. Stuffing it with thousand of people at the same time does no good to an aging historical monument. Some people even resort to vandalism.

Worship was never forbidden in Hagia Sophia. Prayers are held in a small Masjid inside Hagia Sophia.

Every country or nation celebrates wars and conquests or whatever battle they won.

When Turks celebrate 1453 only thing I see is double standards and hypocrisy. By Christians, Jews and Liberals who use bs arguments.

Muslims, Christians and Jews.

Have no right to lecture us about "respect"

Also to the athiests since you dont believe in God why do you even give a shit about a religious building?
Dear rider, the "AYASOFYA" incident was very difficult. If you want, I can send you a church model if it will cool you down. Crusader too. You rub a lot.

Absolute nonsense, it was Muslims who saved this country. They were martyred for honor so that the adhan would not be silenced. It's not for you to talk nonsense like that.
