#OTD in 1943 the last Ram II tank left the Montreal Locomotive Works. These were very progressive tanks for their time, but the Sherman first caught up and then overtook them in quality and in quantity, so there was no point in continuing production. #tanks #history #WW2 #WWII

Iran Bought 460 M60 Tanks That Were Made in the USA Back in the 1970s and Can't Stop Upgrading Them Decades Later

A 2016 US Army threat report listed 150 Iranian M60A1s. The same approximate figure was still being used in 2024, and no verified readiness count exists.

An improved variant of the SU-76I was finished #OTD in 1943. The biggest change was the addition of a commander's cupola taken from captured Pz.Kpfw.III tanks as well as a bulge in the side to accommodate it. #tanks #history #WW2 #WWII
