Hong Kong police will officially swap British-style marching for the “goose step” used in mainland China on July 1, as the city sheds signs of its colonial past under Beijing’s growing control.

“To promote patriotism and enhance the awareness of national identity, the Hong Kong Police Force will fully adopt Chinese foot drills from July 1,” the HKPF said in a statement to Bloomberg News.

Goose step originated from Germany tho.
Yes, and was introduced to China by people like my Great-grandfather in 1892 and again during the Sino-German cooperation from the 1920's onward.
Due to its difficulty of execution, the goose step remains a strong symbol of military discipline used by over 80 countries.

Ahh... Marxism wasn't really a German thing at all - rather a German developing his ideas due to the socio-economic situation he observed in France and England.

Okay - back to HK police and their goose step.
