ASSAN introduced its 1000-horsepower hybrid powerpack at IDEF-2025.

Developed for the Fırtına howitzers, the system features a 600-horsepower diesel engine and a 400-horsepower electric motor with a battery system.

The full hybrid system operates without a transmission. Even if the batteries are completely depleted, the system can still operate using propulsion from the diesel engine. It is also capable of completely silent operation and movement using only the electric motor.

Tests of the hybrid powerpack will soon be conducted with a Fırtına howitzer to be delivered to ASSAN.

ASSAN's hybrid powerpacks can be integrated into various vehicles, and different engine and power configurations can be developed.

They were focused on engine spares and servicing of such engines well before they were in the business of making shells.

Instead of dedicating a long time to R&D, they mentioned that they increase product variety through technology transfer by acquiring companies. That's why they acquired the company in South Africa. They might have followed a similar approach here as well.
