Friday marks 13 years since the November 26, 2008, terror attacks in Mumbai, carried out by 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in the country's financial capital. The terrorists targeted various crowded locations across the city, including the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Hotel Trident, Nariman House, Leopold Cafe, Cama Hospital, among others.

Actually I used to work in 6am to 3pm shift and slept early on 26th as usual and when I reached office on morning of 27th Nov when i log in my team mate in US asked me am I ok , I said why he said you dint saw the news and at that time I saw and literally remained in shock for sometime .

Fucking 10 Pakistanis slaughtered 166 innocent souls ...I never understand what purpose such slaughter serves .Bottom line is since that day , I literally stop feeling anything when ever any terrorist attack happened inside Pakistan after that day

I was only a few hundred meters away from the Taj. I had also dropped a Jewish friend a few times that year to Chabad House - she knew the Rabbi family that was killed.

Beleive me that one incident literally ensure all sane Indians will always have this grudge with Pakistanis . I never understood what purpose killing of some common people will serve .The only silver lining of that terorist attack was the revamp of NSG

There was 0 silver lining. While Kargil was fresh in our minds, it happened in the mountains along the LoC. This was far more brazen.

There is a video of a Pak journalist who went to Kasab's hometown while the attack was on. It's quite eye opening. If I find it, I will post it.

To be honest all gains of Kargil were lost when AB Vajpayee become larger then life and literally gave a free pass to Pakistan . Even after Mumbai attacks Manmohan Singh literally denied any kinetic action and they even wrapped up TSD which was set up by MI specific to prevent sch attacks in future . Col. Hunny Bakishi's identity was disclosed in public . Hamam was literally ruiling the county.

Lol ironically Pakistanis still call LeT as "kashmir freedom fighters"
An organization responsible for massacring people in 26/11 for nothing.

They are paying for it many times over...and many more times over to come.

I will be extremely surprised if they can increase their gross savings level at even any subpar clip even.

It was 19 billion USD as far back as 2004 ....and not much different in prior years either.

It is still stuck there now (and USD meanwhile has inflated a bunch itself since 2004...so essentialy their real total savings is far less than 2004).

From 2004 to current year, India in increased its gross savings from about 240 billion USD to 1 trillion now in comparison.

It is why the fundamental argument involves will India double or triple it (i.e to 2 or 3 trillion) this decade.

While theirs stays stuck at 20 billion level.

It is amazing how few of them realise (the importance of this number)....and talk about every other dumb issue instead.

Folks more broadly focus too much on "GDP" too (without looking at its drivers instead).

================================================

In my company (a high level engineering intense one), using the position/influence I hold....I make sure every (rare "nominally qualified") enemy goes through "extra screening" first thing (which ends up blocking about 95% of those attempts) and that any that do get through get stuck in the lower echelons (though this tends to happen anyway).

For example as part of this, regarding two higher ups.... I just told them to read AQ Khan story w.r.t URENCO. Nuff said....given already implemented "unofficial" policy for PRC + "Allies"...

As far as I see it, no need for "pure people" to strain their brain at others expense....or grow a wallet for whatever % then turn ungrateful or worse (since this would then inevitably concern my motherland and also host country).

They are after all above it all according to them....

Regarding that attitude in general (when it involves their lowest riff raff taking innocent lives of ours).... it is better (long term) to not get/stay angry, but to get even.

As only getting even fixes the problem long term. Anger is just for the short term....but it must be harnessed and honoured in later action without it....calmly and diligently.

Don't forget or forgive.

This all feeds back in larger sense, everywhere its being done. Everyone (that loves our country) has a job to do on this, however they can do it.

As this keeps going among enough of us...the enemy will get angrier and whinier this decade, just watch it.

It just is not easy to abandon English, learn Chinese and have China accept, integrate and grow your "best".

Not easy at all. So the vulnerabilities and weaknesses they have now will have to be strategically pressure-pointed all over....past what they self-inflict (to immense degree) anyway.

Make the enemy learn the harsh lessons on its own time and dime. Simple and effective.

How old are you man? I though you're currently in your early 20s...I was literally in high school when this happened and that too in hostel. Our warden didn't even let us watch the news and we got to know about it a lil in the next day's newspaper

There was decent revamp in other orgs as well...apart from upgrading NSG and establishing multiple hubs, several state/city police depts formed SWAT teams like Mumbai's Force-1 & QRT. A lot of police stations in major cities started carry AKs, Insas or other OFB rifles ditching the LeEnfields. Mumbai police roped in trainers from Israel to formulate and train Force-1 teams

but our planning and org structure is crappy. If another attack happens, they'd still want NSG to handle the situation while Force-1 might form only an outer layer. Similar to CRPF's role in Kashmir CI ops. Even during Pathankot, which was well after upgrading Marcos, Garuds & NSG...the planners were still contemplating on who should handle the ops with some suggesting Para SF while others NSG wherein it should be the Garuds who are indeed created for protecting & safeguarding attacks on airbases

Exactly why we should also term Peshawar attackers or the likes as "freedom fighters" and not terrorists. I got a 2 month ban on peedeefff for posting "بے شک ہم اللہ کیلئے ہیں اور ہمیں اسی کی طرف لوٹنا ہے۔" when a Balochi freedom fighter died...triggered quite a lotta pussies including those who pretend to be bongs

Rest in peace and my condolences to the families and victims of this awful tragedy.

I hope they get justice for what has happened. Awful tragedy caused by corporate greed.

Quite interesting read @Joe Shearer @Rajaraja Chola et al:

Yea I read this article. It was kinda no surprise. Cholas had lots of strong relationship with the Chinese. Infact I read another article, that the Chinese helped with their designs for cholas naval ships. And Vishnu and Shiva temples have been unearthed or converted to local uses in coastal China.

The only person to be disappointed with these news will be DMK vadis who claim Tamils as Dravidians ideologues. 😂

I think in a way Muslim conquest of India stopped the communication and transfer of ideas, religion, trade etc with SE Asia. By 15th century they began to convert to Buddhism and Islam. Good 2 centuries after the Pandyas were vanquished by the Khiljis forces.
Vijayanagars who replaced them, had little interest in SE Asia and instead traded most with Arabia and Europe. And contact began to lose.
There is also an story of an Chola prince becoming an king of a island in Phillipines.
