The pic is from a tweet from the army about equipment that is being inducted. But there are strong rumors that some noticable equipment update has been going on for some para SF units. Armasen tactical recently confirmed that. But in the end dumping the tavour rifle for some AR15 should be the first move.

Armasen tactical mostly produces low end stuff like patches, duffle bags, backpacks, belts, helmet covers etc apart from their plate carriers which is pretty decent. Para SF along with the recently merged Para battalions will number in excess of 10,000 and there's no way IA will order from one single firm, especially a smaller one like Armasen

Unlike Marcos, NSG or Garuds which have a dedicated team with CAPEX to focus on modernization and standardization, Paras can only use their battalion level funds which is exactly why no two members in the team look alike

I hope they standardize at least for the core Para operators like Para-1, 4, 9, 10, 21 by ordering from Armasen for battle gear, Tonbo for helmet and weapon mounted sights, MKU for helmets and go with an AR styled rifle

All PMC firms in India which've been setup by ex-military folks are primarily for VIP protection. I'm not aware of any firm which operate on the lines of Blackwater

PMCs' are mainly used to operate outside of a country's borders and I don't even think GoI or the military establishment is bold enough to hire a PMC to do our dirty work. There were rumors that RAW uses SG and SFF at times but it's not public

We see a rise in piracy especially in that area. Both Houthis and Somali pirates started to increase the intensity of their operations. It is nice to see that the Indian Navy is capable of effectively intervene and contribute to the security of merchant ships. Also it is nice to see they are not shy of responding to threats and the mere presence of the Indian Navy is not just posturing.
