The KMG556 is KALEKALIP’s take on what an LMG should be. This lightweight belt fed machine gun is adapted for user ergonomics in the best possible way with its adjustable cheek piece, telescopic stock, ambidextrous weapons controls and ability to both deploy on its integrated bipod and off the shoulder.

The integrated hard points allow the deployment of the KMG556 from any inservice STANAG mount or field tripod. An advanced long-stroke gas piston system with proven endurance and reliability, the KMG556 will fire reliably under the most adverse conditions. The question is, do you have enough ammo?

Well, the silver lining is that the manufacturer company is very receptive of the feedback and is already implementing the changes.
I remember Canik going the very same path these guys are going right now, just a couple of years ago.
They became a smashing success, and so can(and i believe they will) these guys.

What I'm actually concerned about is that how much of this equipment is reaching to the crafty hands of our crafty and mighty Mehmetçik.
We make all these ACOG's and NVG's and stuff but in the end, all the mighty troops of ours seems to get is a barebones MPT and a pat on the back :(

Is there any progress made in this field? And do we have a thread to follow that progress in this site? Something like:

"Indigenous grunt kit / infantry equipment acquisition programs"

There's this thread but its pretty much abandoned and seems to be focused on the equipment itself, rather than what our boys actually get.

But still using G3 by our soldiers.
G3s got replaced in all of the operational units of TSK as far as I know. They got MPT-76 and if we talk about Commando personnel either MPT-55 or SAR-56 (newest deliveries). I think only a small part of the Gendarmerie's operational units are still using HK-33s, but they are replacing them with KCR-556.

Some of TSK units still use G3s, but they are units that are not operational and got lower priority than our commando units. Commando units use G3/HK-33 in training (don't ask me why).

This is from the recent visit of Tajik officers to the Egirdir Mountain and Commando Training School Command.

We can see the soldiers equipped with SAR-56. Other national rifles are also presented to the Tajik delegation.

Our handgun industry invaded US civil market.

I am very delighted that Turkish companies are keeping up with the trends. Some years ago I couldn't even imagine that Turkish firearms manufacturers will come up with anything more than a CZ-75 clone and an MPT-55.

AKDAS are already supplier of 40mm grenade launchers to TSK. If the rifle prove itself I think we may see a future for it especially in SOF. We know that SAT are still using their old M4s and despite the capability they gained trough modification these rifles accumulated a lot of age already. SAT tested MPT-55 some time ago, SAS even took deliveries of MPT-55, but SAT restrained. Due to the nature of SAT's mission profiles, including VBSS operations they need something that can be shortened for operations in contained spaces and the stock options of AKDAS SAM-223 can suit the needs of a SOF unit perfectly. Airborne operations are also easier when you can shorten your rifle. What I think is missing and is of critical importance is the adjustable gas system.

I am sure that here in our forum we have guests from Turkish weapon manufacturers.

Please start considering long stroke assault rifles. I am not telling making AKs.

With AR accuracy and long stroke durability.

Our short stroke MPTs have complicated springs.

Look at Sig MCX SPEAR . Spear is differs from ordinary MCX with long stroke.
With long stroke piston your assault rifle could perform like PKM.

The assault rifle of every soldier and every mission should have long stroke piston which is simplier and more reliable.

The key word "Overheating " and ""simplicity "

Can you feel the difference

Because the rifle on the picture (SPEAR) is chambered in 6.8×51mm and not in 5.56x45mm like the old MCX, MCX Virtus or MCX LT. All MCX and also the SPEAR (XM7) have short-stroke gas pistons, they aren't long-stroke.

Orange is the op rod, red the op rod spring there is no piston like on the AK or other long stroke rifles.
