^^ Did he forgot that it was Prabowo thats been pushing for the F-35 and the F-15EX is on the procurement plan list.

I hope that this isn't the same singaporean guy in Lowyat who belittle Indonesia and glorifying singapore in every post he posted.

I've read OPSSG's post way back when from the MP forum days, most of the time his post is rational and well-balanced. Although lately, I got the impression that the thought of Indonesia potentially surpassing Singapore in the region's air superiority kinda unsettled him a bit. I mean his concern and suggestion on why should pursuit the F-16V instead of Rafale is sound, but I'm not sure if it's an honest one.

Defencet**k is full of self-loving senior posters and trigger happy moderators.

I'm inclined to agree. Speaking strictly on the Indonesian thread; it used to host a decent discussion, but I feel these days is just full of elitist and can quickly turn into echo chamber

Although lately, I got the impression that the thought of Indonesia potentially surpassing Singapore in the region's air superiority kinda unsettled him a bit. I mean his concern and suggestion on why should pursuit the F-16V instead of Rafale is sound, but I'm not sure if it's an honest one.

The presence of China in South China Sea actually had destroyed the balance of power in the region, whatever we will do is not going affect much of power balance between main actor in the region, esp China and USA. Don't forget the presence of India forces in Andaman and Nicobar had become a part of power struggle here.

The much stronger Indonesia militarily and economically actually a better alternative for ASEAN smaller member to get much ASEAN voice as a whole being heard and respected by other larger Countries surrounding us (China, USA, India and to some extent Japan). As rich as Singapore may become, the fact they are an Island Nation with only 5 million or less population still there, their potential is very limited, their depth is just so small and so with their potential strength.

The much stronger Indonesia militarily and economically actually a better alternative for ASEAN smaller member to get much ASEAN voice as a whole being heard and respected by other larger Countries surrounding us (China, USA, India and to some extent Japan). As rich as Singapore may become, the fact they are an Island Nation with only 5 million or less population still there, their potential is very limited, their depth is just so small and so with their potential strength.

I agree a capable Indonesia is a much more sensible option for ASEAN rather than the alternatives. Those with the straight head know anyway, and I said this with as much humility as I possibly can, it's a matter of when not if Indonesia will surpass Singapore in terms of capability.

why he mentioned KC-46 has better suitability compared to A330 MRTT in maintenance aspect?
KC-46 basis is B-767 which is not even flying in the region.. A330 on the other hand is operated by GIA..

and also for runway interoperability.. A330 is a bigger airplane so it is clearly can only operate from longer runway.. but it is a tanker anyway.. who would put 40 tonnes of jetfuel on some random base just to top up the tanker..

kajian is only recommendation, and actually there is not only one "kajian" had been made toward this acquisition programme, and the one being recommended actually fell to A330 MRTT as the said fact you had pointed.

I often got this feeling when reading defenc*talk.com that the forum is the place where US sales representatives used to hangout. It feels like they monitor and control the narratives there.

I'm not saying that there's no sales representatives registered here as members, but our forum is definitely more balanced (so far).

Sorry mado I don't see they offer us F35, just the "F16v is the right track to get F35 in the future" all over again.

They maybe can kill Boeing offer but not dassault.
