The problem is Rupiah Murni Pendamping (RMP) to back the foreign loan absorption. Budget for defense equipment acquisition for MoD and Police is around 16.7 trillion Rupiah each, this figure is unlikely to climb as we are going to decrease budget deficit gradually into 3 % of GDP in 2023.

There are many priority programs within Armed Force acquisition, not just MRCA program. The priority program for Air Force in relation to MRCA is to fill F 5 squadron with new fighters (1.1 billion USD). I have posted the program and the figure already in older post.

There is also President instruction to have at least 50 % of the budget for local defense industry equipment/MRO.

If it's that simple, Vipers deals should have been secured by now. Just Stop talking with US, Qatar, French, and UAE about Fighter procurement.

It's not a secret French pushing Rafale so hard to us. If French know that we don't have any capacity to acquire it, why doesn't their Intel just tell macron to not waste their time on us, tell him we're too "Kere" to buy it?

The local press is widely reported, the Indonesian government has reportedly approved the purchase of five Airbus A400M Atlas military transport planes. The contract is valued at two billion dollars, according to our Indonesian colleagues and the specialized journal Jane's (read here). This purchase was mentioned in May 2016 by the Indonesian Prime Minister (read again here).

Indonesia therefore becomes the A400M's second export customer, after Malaysia, whose use of the device by its air force will certainly have played a role in the Indonesian decision. The local air force is already familiar with Airbus, operating fleets of CN-235 and C-295 military light transport aircraft. A production chain has even been installed in the country, and which could be requested in this new contract.
