Most obvious thing is F16 has much better BVR missile (AMRAAM) than Mirage's (Mica).

There's possibility to bring MICA NG (long range) to Mirage platform.

That's what MBDA said to India when they were asking about the possibility to adopt Meteor to Mirage.

Emirates Mirage 2000 cames from two batches of order, the older one ordered from 1983 and being rebuild to Mirage 2000 Dash 9 standard in the late 1990, at the same time with their new order of Mirage 2000 - 9 aka Mirage 2000-5 Mk2 export variant.

The Qataris Mirage 2000 all come from 1993 order, those are all EDA variant for export order. The Emirates ones can carry Thales Damocles targeting pod, except for their training version and recce variant.
Meanwhile, Qataris Mirage 2000 can only carry ATLIS II day/clear weather targeting pod.

In finance terms, Mirage 2000 is no longer in production neither in service of Armee de Air, there's no plan for further upgrades and with the service and production comes to close in France, spare parts scarcity is going to be issue this lead to increase the operational cost due spare parts demand in years to come. There's no point on acquiring Mirage unless you're someone like me, a broker yet in the field of defence and specialised in state programme ( seeking fee from SPK Kementerian or through budget leakage )

I guess what we want is the UAE's M2K-9 newly built one (total 31 remaining).

It'll be hot competition as Greece is also showing interest.

I would not recommended it either, regardless of me being Sales of Lockheed, those F16 is still in use by their country of origin at least by another two decades speaks more of their optional upgrade program and availability of spare part in foreseeable future, as the F16 is not only being produced by the US but also Turkey and South Korea too and still in demand by countries around the world.

If any of you still insist of second hand assets, but hellbent to avoid the US, then the other viable choice is only Eurofightet Typhoon indeed.

Second-hand Mirage 2k-9 vs second-hand EF Typhoon will be an interesting debate.

Btw, it seems that the only second-hand EF available right now is the Tranche-1, CMIIW.

Simplified mechanism
The last business i did with RI08, it started with LoI, replied by an invitation for field inspection followed by NDA & MoU at the same time appraisal from third party hired before finally proceed to transaction and finalisation, that's how things from my side but this was not from Defence Field, the business itself wasn't business related despite our client was no 1 in Defence. Idk how things in arm sales work, i mean the mechanism though things at my freelance works often crosspath with those of defence like those Chaebols a month ago (investor of IKN seeking to buy 2 5 stats hotels in Jakarta ), some of them represented DSME.
( I myself though is a physician not businessmen currently at Papua )

The last LoI for Eurofighter in Austrian Air Force service, was there any official reply from their side ? An invitation for field inspection to our delegation ?

So F15 is in the bags too, we are already moving fast and changing a lot. I know we are needed a lot of interdiction type aircraft fighter with long range, superior payload and advanced system, hope they can bring HARM missiles too

I don't know the detail how FMS works. But since it's basically G2G deal (without 3rd party who acts as lender), surely we can sign all 36 right away. Unlike Rafale deal in which we have to "nyicil" through foreign loan.

I could be wrong though.

Any details of the anti-corruption procedures? Looking at Carniege paper, Middle East cases for US Arms Sales corruptions is from the offset. What is in US, in US, but the third parties involved here for the offsets are the those who possible make the budget bocor and inefficient. Maybe the bribe thing is not on the equation here, since the F-15 is already chosen. And also, consulting companies here also possible pipeline for corruption, I said possible, not pointing finger that is already happen.

If the corruption occur, I'm sure the money that have to be spend would be more than $13.9B something like what State Department put officially. I rather wait now, especially when "anti-corruption procedures" are brought up that I never saw this happen before, at least not this specific. The US maybe want the contractors that responsible for the offsets transparency. And for sure, to make sure the money not flow to those who are against their interest.

Edit: I'm sorry, it's Carnegie. This is also where No.1 of CIA, Bill Burns, worked before now.

I also wanna say, you'll never gonna outsmart CIA on corruption. Reportedly, few percents of budget that was allocated for Marshall Plan also diverted for CIA and that was decades ago that they maybe already better how to get black budget now.

Se bajingan banjingannya anda, CIA lebih bajingan. Jangan ngerasa aman.

Edit: No.2 of CIA called as "financial batman" btw. Armed and ready to follow the money.

With all those wish list and on going contracts we have I am not sure how we are going to finance this eagle. I hope MoD, MoF and US can make creative move to overcome budgetary obstacles....

Why US go ahead with it in the first place if the customer is "bokek" and no assurance next admin gonna continue it?
