The A400M is a very expensive aircraft with very high flight and maintenance costs, built for power transmission. If Indonesia bought it to transfer power between its islands, that's a pretty expensive solution.

C130J is not a bad choice, for transport and tanker IMO. Cheaper and we already have some of it (older var).

that depends actually on what indonesia will do with their autonomous right of CN-235, if they decide to not doing anything with it (developing new variants or derivative design with higher payload etc), then this a400m procurement will go to waste.

you got the point, but as what curently in desperate need A400M cound serve as Tanker. Not to mention the purchase of A400M have some reason behind it, such as fully indigeneus productions of CN 235. This CN 235 has special place in air transport role beside C 130.

Well, about cost per hour of A400M you probably git the point, but as you see has plenty of airstrip to land and fly big plane, there's also plenty spot to be build as type A air field (Fighter capable + Air defence); so there's no problemo to operate such flugzeug

While i concur about the flying cost you are simply missunderstood the political and tactical relevances on this acquisition . Some specific incident requires a very fast response beyond what the hercs could carry . Liked or not this is one of those preparation for the rainy days ahead ...

This is total approve foreign loan (2020-2024) from Bappenas for Air Force, while we dont know how much Finance Minister will slash it further, as for MRCA program it is slashed from 1.6 billion USD into 1.1 billion USD

The latest order is quite match with these presentation. T 50 Golden Eagle is ordered at 400 million USD though, 100 million USD more than what has been given by Bappenas (Training Aircraft), so SMI add the figure a bit, maybe due to minimum plane needed to get TOT scheme from KAI.
