I don't think Infoglobal have the capability to built aircraft unless they collaborate with PTDI for the airframe production like what PTDI was doing with Elang Hitam UAV. And if the KF-21 Boramae do indeed proceed ahead i don't think PTDI have the time and capacity to produce another fighter jet.

Or less than Mach 1.

What engine is available in the market?
If adour is chosen to power it then it will be more befitting to call it as Hawk successor.
I think there's an ongoing attempt to create something based on the Adour, although I don't know how far their progress goes currently.

Other than that, considering the size of the aircraft, something like the F404 could also fit as an alternative.

You can try lower output engine like Honeywell TFE731 (the same engine powered K8, AT-3, Pampa and the likes )

Or Honeywell F124/125 for mil specs

One of reasons that Korean doubt Indonesia's seriousness with the KF-21 project is that the Indonesian govt hasn't much invested in local manufacturing of IF-X. Indonesia is supposed to finish building infrastructure & assembly lines if the country is to produce the fighter jet from Q1 of 2024 (only a 1.5 year from today) along with Korea. At this moment, It seems either Indonesia ends up paying some money into R&D and exits the project at worst or PTDI only assembles a knock-down kit of IF-X imported from Korea at best.

Maybe this is why PTDI needs I-22. It is an insurance option if IF-X is a bust in Indonesia and the company needs a leverage to convince the Indonesian govt to invest money into fighter jet assembly lines.

The assembly line already ordered, research and development center with all new shiny computer and that's including new factory and jig, tools for production line already being set up back then before tit for tat negotiation with South Korea began in 2018 period. From what i know previous admin government (Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono) put tens million US Dollar funding for PT DI to set up the facilities for IFX assembly line.

You may find pictures of a warehouse and a bunch of tools for IFX production lines online, but what Korean reps have discovered is that investment has been inadequate since the current Indonesian government took over and Indonesia's production lines aren't ready for IF-X production. The impression is that Jokowi is prioritizing other military projects.

Jokowi is not prioritized military issue at all, he is layman in security issue, he is most concerned with economy issue, infrastructure and trade. The matter got worse in his first term as there is no adequate security advisor at his service as most people around him is mostly concerned with their political gain. That's why since 2017 or even earlier there is no continuous budget for KFX/IFX as previous MoD is not even bother to put it in the draft budget. Second term is much better, but when the new MoD and MoF found large outstanding bill, in the end of 2019 they are trying to review the program while doing negotiation, then come Covid 19 in early 2020, thus the negotiation is on hold until the pandemic issue is not at large anymore thus the problem only recently being solved from our side.

It doesn't look good on Indonesia and its genuineness with budgetory issues when Indonesia is still on defence shopping spree with Dassault Rafale & Boeing F-15EX and more. It gives Korean the perception that Indonesia is abandoning the joint KF-X/IF-X project and not honoring its contractual payment obligation when Indonesia could afford these defence procurement.

The claim that Jokowi is more concerned with internal development such as economy, infrastructure and trade is interesting because his government seems to prefer spending money on importing Rafale directly from France over investintg in infrastrucure of own joint fighter jet project which will ultiamtey benefit Indonesia's defence sector & economy.

Back to the main topic - PTDI may want I-22 as a back up option. It will be a great opportuniy for PTDI to implement know-hows that the company has learned from the KF-21 project and the company could use it as a leverage to ask the Indonesian government for more fund into its production lines. However, this part is purely my speculation.

Yes, it will. However, this is another thing. When Indonesia signed a contract with Korea back in 2016 and made initial payment, both sides understood that Indonesia would fund R&D and manfucature IF-X Block I which would focus on air-to-air mission with modification required by the Indonesian government. Block II which will have more competent multirole mission capability is only ordered by Korean Airforce.
