Love the background blurring (out of focus) of that pictorial, same with the colour filter. It's highlight the subject without overdoing it

That's what large aperture lenses can deliver to your pictures. A truly comitted photojournalist in the field such as this may carry two professional caliber cameras with three professional zoom lenses on his/her bag. And, oh boy, they're heavy.

If I someone offers me a chance (and necessary equipments) to be on the field to cover events like this once more, I will say yes in a heartbeat - my poor back be damned.

To get back on topic:

I don't know about you all, but I do think that out traditional DPM camouflage pattern should be refreshed or replaced with something better. While it may still effective in the thick jungle, but we've also seen that US camouflage pattern can really blend in there as well.

Wani piro ?? .... Compared to the mere uniform ( with a litle kickback in it ) . Modernization and revitalisation equipment were the priority and rage today .

Yeah, it's always come to that isn't it?

Anyway, I'm not saying it has to be done immediately, neither that it has to be done all at once.

It is not urgent, the money can be used to buy other gears to equip each personel, at least for kostrad first.
Like NVG and rad com.

Someone here (or two of them) will chime in that 🇮🇩 Apache doesn't came with the AN/APG-78 Longbow. And they will also make claim that it is merely a monkey version of Apache (whatever that means). Thus, we better off with Mi-28 or Ka-50. Russia 5T0Nk
Why push to sell toys that no one want and the manufacturer near bankruptcy?

Perhaps we need to double the number of Apache in 🇮🇩 service

Common sense dictates us to revitalized our equipment first . Not to mention we allready had a dozen type of camos ( Samar , NKRI etc , etc ) yet it was never implemented for the above reasoning .
Onething i could never understand is the wearest our DPM's get , it was get more and more blended naturally better into our surrounding jungle environment . Our muds and the bois sweats surely has something magic in them .....

😌😌

What you see in those videos are due to low quality video recording. And also by your use of a less than capable phone screen to view them, not to mention your Google account is Indon based, of which Google typically also offering different quality & contents for you guys.

There is nothing wrong with Woodland DPM if it uses in its intended environment (evergreen broadleaf during daylight). From what I can guess, the problem with standardizing camo pattern is mostly due to "ego sectoral".

The cost of camo pattern is mostly their licensing fee. There are plenty of great all weather tropical camo pattern in the market (pretty sure I have posted those camos pattern here a while back). But adopting any of them would be expensive (licencing fee). Not to mention, maintaining NIR or IRR treated fabric is also ridiculously difficult (or expensive, for my own personal experience)

Edit : I still haven't found any fabric that is suitable for use in tropical climate. Any suitable fabric for modern camo would also need to be imported, or if its produce locally here it will also incur licensing fee

Just deploying infantry for joint exercise with the U.S and we found out that we're wrong with the way we dressed.

Imagine the amount of knowledge we will obtain if we regularly do joint exercise involving tanks, artillery, aviation etc.

I'd say we should expand the cooperation.

The US is and remain the most preferable role model for ALL wannabe modern military.

Perhaps changing camo for PDL isn't top priority after all, also it willn't come in cheap if they want an improvement.

I heard back then if Sritex supply Bundeswrhr PDL capable to conceal with IR/NVG.
Does that uniform even didnt meet req for tropical use ?

Making BDU fabric for temperate and desert (hot & dry) climate is already well known. Making comfortable clothing for tropical climate is easy and also well known, but making it both comfortable enough & durable enough is the difficult part. Which is why, BDU for tropical (hot & humid) climate is something of a "work in progress".

So far, US Army had tried with 57% polyester + 43% cotton mix for their new tropical climate BDU, but not sure that eventually fare.

While for my personal experience, the most comfortable & durable clothing that I had wear (and bought) is this (video below) it is 65% polyester + 35% cotton + Teflon finish, although it is not BDU it has better durability & tactical functionality than most BDU out there. But even that wasn't comfortable enough for me (too hot)

well i used that stuff too.

For me the durability is ok, but far away from comfort.
Yes, 5.11 is "kaku" and not breathable make the clotes feel hot.

Cotton based reinforced with poliester fabric perhaps the key for Better BDU upgrade. As you said the compossition was the only issue.

🇮🇩 Army seems already use similar fabric to 5.11 (ribstock) but the quality & comfortability are questionable

The Serial Production of Kaplan Tank (Harimau Tank) will Appear at IDEF

16 Agustus 2021

The serial production configuration of the Kaplan MT (Indonesia : Harimau tank) with minor changed (photos : Anadolu)

Ankara - Kaplan MT (Indonesia : Harimau), the first vehicle exported by the Turkish defense industry in the tank class, will be exhibited at the 15th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2021) with its serial production configuration.

According to the information obtained by the AA correspondent, FNSS, the armored land vehicle manufacturer of the Turkish defense industry, will make a strong participation in IDEF 2021, which will be held on August 17-20 with the armored communication vehicles in its product portfolio.

Among the vehicles to be exhibited by FNSS, there will be the medium weight class Kaplan MT tank. IDEF fairs witnessed important developments for Kaplan MT. The launch of Kaplan MT in 2017 and a co-production contract with PT Pindad was signed in 2019 to meet the needs of the Indonesian army. At IDEF 2021, this time the serial production configuration of the tank will be introduced.

The design perfection work for Kaplan MT, which was developed within the scope of the project where FNSS successfully applied the technology transfer model to PT Pindad, and for which a serial production contract was signed after the prototype period tests were concluded, has been completed.

Kaplan MT successfully passed the endurance and firing tests carried out in Turkey and Indonesia during the prototype period. With the entry into force of Kaplan MT's co-production contract signed in 2019, mass production work has begun at FNSS facilities. Under the contract, 18 Kaplan MT tanks will be produced. The first 10 tanks will be produced in Turkey, and the remaining 8 tanks will be produced in Indonesia.

Body design changed

Many improvements were made to the tank during the transition from prototype to mass production. In this context, driver visibility and handling ergonomics have been improved. The body design was perfected in line with the feedback from the end user.

Based on the experience gained from the tests, improvements were made in the tower system, power transmission group, cooling system and suspension system.

The first leg of the first vehicle acceptance tests was completed in Turkey with customer participation. After the final acceptances in Indonesia by the end of the year, the first vehicle will be delivered to the army of this country.

The production of the remaining vehicles in the project continues. Towards the end of the year, the acceptance of these vehicles will start and will continue in 2022.

Kaplan MT Project draws attention as the first project initiated and concluded within the framework of the "Defense Industry Cooperation Agreements" signed between Indonesia and Turkey, as well as being the first export contract signed by Turkey in the medium weight tank class.

(Anadolu)

Just like i had said before, there is some flaw in the design and the end user request some modification....in which Will delayed the production timeline
