That is very likely, when the platform is more mature MoD would be more confident to order it at the larger number per-batch.

so the end user basically submit their requirement (which is flawed) and then (luckily) come to realization that their requirement is shyte and request for a revision which (hopefully) will rectify the flaw for good.

+ the designer has told "man let's do it this way" but some people from the end-user, or rather the "subcontractor" of end user has claimed it is better that way, then it is proven otherwise and a new contract has been signed for serial production variant.

Product improvement is quite normal.

Not quite normal after 5+ years of development, of which,2 given to the end user to study and submit their requirements. Anyway, gladly it is over, or it is no? We will see after the first few units delivered.

The rest of orders will be made by Pindad, FNSS will only fullfill the initial orders until Pindad is learning and adapting to how to make the tank. If necessary FNSS is going to establish and counsel the serial production line in Pindad (it seems to be necessary so far)

Well, they probably has made a lot of labels so they need to put them on something...

With that said, a serious overhaul in this country's jingoistic and opportunistic mentalities is long overdue, as well as replacing the head of departments and state owned industries such as this with people who don't give a damn about labelling something with "Karya Anak Bangsa" when it's not.

But then again, I'm not holding breath for all these to happen. Not in the next decade or two.

SOE and their subcontractor still have extremely strong bureaucracy mentality, although I personally referring it as VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie) corporate culture (for lack of better term)

Commissioning the printing those Karya Anak Bangsa sticker label + their certification along with stamping it on foreign design product has become the core business of SOE's

until Pindad is learning and adapting to how to make the tank.

It is not about mentality, it is basically how most of them run the business. Even the brightess mind will find it hard to place long term plan to happen due to rules, regulation, etc. This situation force them in a way to only able to conduct short term plan thus becoming opportunist.

Why not? It depends on how you use them, head to head vs MBT? Fire support? Hunting enemy light armored vehicle?

Not as a Tank but fire-support unit along the other armored-tracked gangs.

Both might get it amphibious, land forces have a habit to make everything amphibious, marines will use it mainly for landing but might request for amphibious capability as well to ease landing in harsh conditions. It is not clear yet to be honest, just expected.
