Rather than LPH/LHD how about modifying our LPD to carry helicopter permanently.

Our LPD can carry helicopter but the hangar is too small for the helicopter (not all can be stored in the hangar), it need to be parked in the helipad, not convenient for maintenance and kept being exposed towards the harsh sea water and weather, and if there is storm or bad weather... , its not much a problem for short deployment tho but its not good for permanent or longer deployment.

Thus how about this

Maybe it will be easier and cheaper to develop compared to LPH using PAL commercial ship product.

I believe we can.

It's not about the hangar is too small, more because most of our naval helos (except Panthers) got no folding blade/rotor capability on them, both the navy Bell 412 and Bo 105 were regular stock "land" variants force to serve on a ship.
We can just get helos that can fold its rotor blade and the current hangar is really small, I am thinking of getting attack helicopter (AH64 / AH1) and the LPD will mostly carry it, and few transport helicopter, or if we want to use it for ASW ops we can just carry panthers etc.

Two elevators, at the front (A) at the stern (B).
We can still use the other one if there is some problems with the elevators.
We can use the elevators and how to utilize the helipad:
1. Use both A and B for anything like entering and exiting hangar.
2. A only used for entry (taking helicopters from the helipad to the hangar) and B only used for Exit (taking the helicopter out from the hangar to the helipad) thus be it take off or landing the helicopter will be facing towards the bow, and also when moving from B to the helipad and also from helipad to A the helo will keep facing the bow (jadi kek jalan searah), and somewhere in the hangar there is platform to turn the helicopter like our current LPD (that is used to turn vehicle).

And for the mistral lhd that have the elevators at the stern unless the helicopter land at the helipad 6 then they need to move it all the way to the back. Hm... how they do it anyway push it backwards or they turn it then pull it?

Babcock hopes for brighter FY2022​

Sales and underlying profits fell for UK-based Babcock International in the 12 months ended 31 March, but it has already picked up new business in the first months of FY2022.
Babcock revealed its latest annual financial results on 30 July, showing that group-wide revenues dropped by about 6% year on year (£4.18 billion for 12 months ended 31 March 2021 compared with £4.43 billion in 2020).
Underlying operating profits fell by 40%, partially due to a £46 million impact from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Efforts to realign the business in FY2021 will continue in FY2022, said Babcock CEO David Lockwood, meaning that the year ahead will be one of ‘transition’.
He added that Babcock remains uncertain of the impact of COVID-19 on performance in FY2022.
Activity across defence was ‘broadly flat’ in the year, Babcock noted, with work continuing in the UK on Hawk flying training and base support contracts.
Discussions continue on a longer-term Hawk support contract for the next decade.
Other UK defence highlights for Babcock in FY2021 included a contract under the Land Environment Tactical Communications and Information Systems programme and down-selection for the Skynet 6 Service Delivery Wrap contract, with a final submission expected in October 2021.
Abroad, Babcock won new business in France, Australia and South Korea in FY2021.
The contract backlog for Babcock stood at £8.7 billion by 31 March, but there have already been some significant developments in the early months of FY2022.
Babcock is lined up as prime contractor for major naval programmes in Ukraine after a Memorandum of Implementation was signed in June.
The company also reported progress in pilot training programmes in France (with a five-year, €500 million deal) and Canada.
Looking ahead, Babcock plans to cut steel on HMS Venturer ؅— the first Inspiration-class frigate for the UK RN ؅— in September, and it stated that ‘active discussions’ on Type 31 exports are in progress with Greece, Indonesia and Poland.
Babcock also awaits the outcome of its bid for the Maritime Electronic Warfare Systems Integrated Capability, and it expects the Future Maritime Support Programme for the RN to be finalised ‘this summer’, with an interim agreement already in place.
‘Our contract backlog is expected to increase significantly once this contract is signed,’ it added.

We'll need something the size of a type 071 LPD, Makassar class is maxed out I think.

whenever I see the Makassar class I think about dedicated ASW carrier-lite, imo. Something like a Moskva or Jean D'arc of the past.

Aren't 🇬🇷 and 🇵🇱 have already picked 🇮🇹 FREMM?🤔

Not yet, Poland and Greece actually prefer Babcock type 31

For Indonesia case they need a lot of confidence to beat FFM 30 on the next tender programme

Aren't the FFM30 is already done deal before it's even started❓I extremely doubt the 🇬🇧 could offer anything that is significantly more politically appealing compare to the 🇯🇵 offering. Not to mention the political push behind FFM30 offering.

I know that every top stakeholder support this and even Japan also fully eager to do so.

But, there's yet any further info about what spec ID Navy want and what Shipyard will be task to build ?

Honestly Am trully shocking to hear every inch about Indonesia getting Tier One weaponery.

Back to 5 to 10 years earlier, maintenance and truck procurement will make a military forum shocked

What Tier-1 weaponry❓Nothing in the planned or even wish list can be considered Tier-1

Never part of that crowd. Besides, I had so accustomed to privately bought, own, and operate wide variety of commercial product & service that will make most Indon "prototype" or any of those overhyped & overpriced items look like a children toy.

One word: Geopolitics.

Back then, while we already knew there's a tendency of increased tension in the SCS, but nobody can predict that we'll receive offer of hi-tech weaponries from Japan.

Now a lot of things have changed. Fast. Even in the last two years or so.

Nowadays thing like FREMM, FFM 30 or Type 31 class Frigate is nothing more than type of small surface combatant vessels used to support constabulary task according to the contention of large power forces like the US, China, Japan, South Korea, England, France, Italia and so on. They are staple food for any Modern Navy surface combatant warships. Tier one units should be something like Type 55 Destroyer, Zummwalt class, Arleigh Burke flight IIA, Maya class and the likes and till now Indonesia authority still give up to procure such weaponry.
