Afaik the Iver Huitfeldt already been signed even Janes confirmed in its article. So it seems that this AH140 license contract is for a new procurement waiting for actual contract by the MoD. Cmiiw.

DSEI 2021: Babcock, PT PAL ink licence deal for Arrowhead 140 design​

UK defence group Babcock has signed a design licence agreement with Indonesian shipbuilder PT PAL providing for the build of two Arrowhead 140 frigates at PT PAL's facilities in Surabaya, Indonesia.

Babcock said the deal – signed on board the UK Royal Navy (RN) Type 23 frigate HMS Argyll at the DSEI exhibition in London on 16 September – marked the first export success for the Arrowhead 140 design. However, UK officials concede that PT PAL has yet to receive a construction contract from the Indonesian Ministry of Defence (MoD).

is it just me or our navy prefer the multiple of 12 on our warship for VLS instead of 16 like normal navies do.

Martadinata = 12 VLS (SAM)
Arrowhead 140 =24 VLS (SAM)

other navies usually goes with 16,32,48,64,96....

Nonetheless, it is a great effort to modernize a navy but there are lots to speak on that , such as not replacing the base of the fleet ie. The patrol ships, corvettes and light frigates upfront and then working on backbone large frigates to top it with advanced assets like Aaw destroyers and carriers.

From the way I see it thats how they have planned to do with some minor changes to adapt current threat analysis. The fleet posture remain relatively the same, its simply replacing the old fleet with some additional number locally made small one. The IH size frigate jumped to the top list when North Natuna Sea security concern over China fleet emerged. At least thats the way I see it looking at the Minimum Essential Force program overall.

Nah, biasa itu saling tikung, tar juga baik lagi . We are the one who can benefit more as this kind of event may push France further to be self reliant in all their defense product by eliminating US made components in their product. Means more reliability over political interest to our diversification taste.
