Would ASW frigates even be able to detect those submarines? I've heard that US and British SSNs are so quiet that even their own navies struggle to find them during excercises.

KPK Asked to Intervene in Supervising the OPV Ship Building Project

OPV Hull 406 ship with contract number: TRAK/51/PON/IV/2020/AL dated 16 April 2020 worth IDR 1,079,100,000,000. While the OPV Vessel with contract number: TRAK/55/PDN/IV/2020/AL dated 30 April 2020 is worth IDR 1,085,090,000,000.

The construction of these two ships is said to have the potential to suffer the same fate as the Indonesian Navy's Tank Transport Ship, where the construction of the ships is not in accordance with the contract and has the potential to stall.

The indication is that, until mid-March 2023, the progress of the construction of the ship has not reached 35%. So that the delivery of the ship from the initial plan of the contract to be carried out in 2023, missed.

Then the ship surrender plan was changed to 2024. However, it is suspected that this target might also be missed.

In another indication, the shipbuilding company until December 2022 is suspected of having withdrawn payment terms with a total value of IDR 859,100,000,000 from the OPV Hull 406 project.

The withdrawal is based on progress reports which are claimed to be 75 percent. In fact, the progress of the ship's construction until mid-March 2023 has only reached 35 percent.

So that the total amount of funds withdrawn based on the allegedly fictitious progress has reached Rp. 1,390,750,000,000. Withdrawal of payment terms made is a very large amount compared to the progress of the actual physical work.
