There will be a moment that a warship will go on some spec ops that requires full blackout meanwhile their "possible sneaky program or transponder device that can only be read by beidou" make a shining light in the middle of the dark seas?
haha, idk, maybe i read too much conspirasy theories to make this happens, but, that is a possibilities right? nowadays technology is very different from 10 years ago, meanwhile, 12 years ago Chinese hacker already attacking google, 14 years ago American already planting hacking program on remote Iranian nuclear enrichment facilities,
And what now?, even using indigineous system won't be a guarantee that that system is safe, that's why we are using tech that built by atleast from the credible company with high reputation and well known for its products, giving ourself some relieve and safe feeling.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not a pushover who don't want this programme to be executed, but using Chinese system itself will be a big hurdle to us as the operator for times to come, command and control in chinese alphabet?, language barrier on every word that plaque on anything, different operating technical procedures, technical manual only in chinese, reliability of the system itself, both hardware and software, and so on and on...
Heck just change the part to European made then, Changing the parts sounds right, but thats not easy, the ship must be docked atleast for 6 month, even Bung Tomo Class that the Great Britain made need 3 years to complete the refit and upgrade programs from planning to fitting.
