One of the main aim for AUKUS by US is to get permanent base for their nuke subs as close as possible to hot spot. But you know what, it's not just Australia they need to "embrace" for this.

They want to secure the choke point and keep the dragon in cage.

question, does submarine can do sneaky-breaky when they are passing a strait?

U216 is one big ass motherfuck*r. It's even bigger than Suryo/Taigei, nevermind U218SG :ROFLMAO:

It's 90m long (vs 84m of Suryo/Taigei, vs 70m of U218SG) with 4000 tons displacement (vs 3000-4000 tons of Suryo/Taigei, vs 2000-2200 tons of U218SG).

It has Vertical Multi-Purpose Lock (VMPL) which can be used for VLS. The U218SG is said to have this kind of option as well.

If only we could somehow buy 400km Brahmos secretly, theoretically, on paper, we could send this MF to attack Beijing :ROFLMAO:
I see, thanks a lot (y)

So if it turns out that we're being offered both U216 and Suryo-chan, in sufficient quantity that is, my sentiment will be like:

"Yak, bungkus!" 😝

There is no export variant for soryu
There is always an export variant, nobody sells the full version. It looks the same, has the same engine but something will vary due to the customization or the removal of the sensitive software and some sensitive (strange sensors that we may not have any idea) equipment.
Typically, the unechoic tiles, some special adjustment in certain parts of the sub, (for reduction of signatures or drag) wake detection sensors, wake-acoustic libraries, underwater-surface ELINT-COMINT systems and libraries won't be exported as-is, or at all.

I got strange feeling that we're gonna use Turkish MDAS VLS. They can't get Mk41 due to sanctions so they accelerate MDAS project to be ready by 2023 for their brand new Istanbul-class frigate.

MDAS VLS will launch LRSAM Hisar, LRSSM Atmaca, and LACM Gezgin.

Yes, it's competing against Barracuda (non-nuke) and Suryo.
I highly doubt if the Gezgin LACM will ne ever exported (mtcr) but maybe LACM version of Atmaca (called Kara) that nearly has range of 300 km (299.99). Atmaca is not VL for now and probably won't be considered soon in vertical cell since the future designs incorporate space for 16 (or 32 in facing configuration) oblique cells. However Atmaca is going to have a sub-launched version very soon.

indonesian navy officers representative attend the submarine rescue course in italia.

https://www.marina.difesa.it/media-...aJXpAibV8wY87r7W97PFCB9lJ8vykEmQbV-9XnApl8ULQ

In Taranto, from 30 August to 9 September, the Submarine Flotilla Command hosted, for the second consecutive year, the Coordinator Rescue Forces Course .

The course, the only one of its kind in NATO, responds to an important need of the international community to be ready when called upon to carry out a rescue operation on a damaged submarine in a situation of absolute technical, psychological and media emergency.

The module represented a moment of advanced training in the SMERWG (SubMarine Escape and Rescue Working Group) field in favor of 10 submarine officers, including 2 Italians, from the United States, Spain, Greece, Argentina and Indonesia.

The teaching, conducted jointly by international lecturers from the ISMERLO ( International SubMarine Escape and Rescue Liaison Office ) and by Italian Officers, involved detailed topics relating to submarine rescue, hyperbaric medicine, psychology, logistics and media management, all surrounded by informative interventions held by the representatives of important partnerships operating in the diving sector such as DRASS GALEAZZI and the NSRS consortium ( Nato Submarine Rescue System ).

Attendees and observers also had the opportunity to visit some important Apulian infrastructures such as the military and civil airport of Grottaglie, the Military Hospital Center of Taranto and the Cospas-Sarsat Station of the Bari Coast Guard, each interested, as part of their own skills, rescue and rescue activities in the event of an accident to diving units.

The second edition of the CRF was also enriched by the presence, on 2 September, of the Commander of the NATO Underwater Forces (COMSUBNATO), the Rear Admiral MACK STEPHEN (US Navy) who, on the occasion of the visit to Taranto at the Flotilla Command Submarines and aboard the submarine Romeo Romei - accompanied by the Commander of the Submarines of the MM (MARICOSOM) Rear Admiral Andrea PETRONI - wanted to personally meet the visitors to underline the support of the Atlantic Alliance for this important training initiative that is increasingly becoming a precious moment international comparison between military and civilian submarine rescue specialists.

So Australia said they expect to build their first SSN by 2040.

While any Indo-Pacific countries can place an order for Barracuda SSN now and get delivered by 2032. Eight freaking years before the Aussie.

Hilarious.

WTH with this hype of suddenly wanting SSN for TNI AL just because Australia will get it?!
Look at 402 tragedy, we have no capability and capacity to do that!

It's almost a month I didn't see TNI AL nor Bakamla ship escorting the rig, in the other hand China Coast Guard almost everyday shadowing the rig plus Vietnam Coast Guard joint the party for almost a month now.

So it's true then that TNI AL and Bakamla have issue with fuel.

if we want to go boom boom with nuclear power, in addition to SSN might as well ask the french to provide us with ASMP for our Rafales. imagine performing maritime strike against PLAN southern fleet with ASMP :sneaky:
