ENHANCING SECURITY AND PEACE COOPERATION, KASAL (Navy Chief) VISIT FRANCE NAVY
Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal) Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali paid a courtesy visit to Chief of French Navy Admiral Pierre Vandier at Hexagon Balard, Naval HQ, Paris, France on Friday (23/06).
The leaders of the navies of the two countries discussed many things related to increasing future cooperation, especially cooperation in building security stability and peace in the Indo-Pacific region.
During the meeting, the two sides also agreed to increase cooperation capacity in the form of exercises between elements at sea. In addition, the Indonesian Navy and the French Navy also agreed to maintain mutual support for their respective roles and functions in the interaction of multinational activities such as the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) and the Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS).
In a series of visiting activities in Paris, France, Kasal also attended the Paris Airshow event, which was attended by various manufacturers of defense equipment, sensors and weapons in the aerospace world such as
MBDA, Leonardo, Airbus and various other major manufacturers.
During this activity, Kasal had the opportunity to hold a bilateral meeting with the Direction Generale De Le'armement (DGA). At the meeting Kasal discussed possibilities for increasing cooperation and exchanging knowledge about weapons between the French defense industry and the Indonesian defense industry, especially to support maritime defense.
Kasal's visit to France is part of a series of official trips abroad.
Previously, Kasal had visited Turkey to enhance cooperation between the Navy and had the opportunity to visit Turkey's maritime defense industry.
