Imo, point defense launchers like the Rim-116 or Gokdeniz should be installed gradually replacing Mistral or Bofors 40mm in some ships with less than 1500tons tonnage. This is because many of navy ship don't have space to install VLS. Its expensive yes, but losing combat ships is even more expensive.

Ships that could be fitted with such:

-Diponegoro class
-FPB-57
-KCR-60
-LPDs
-OPV-90 if the navy don't want to install VLS

talking about CIWS, i just saw that oerlikon is planned for CIWS on the Red white frigate
since it gonna use Turks CMS, any chance that they also gonna consider gokdeniz as a competitor for oerlikon for the Red white?

Imo, they will figure out their mistake once its already too late. Almost all of navy ships are very vulnerable to air attacks.
talking about CIWS, i just saw that oerlikon is planned for CIWS on the Red white frigate
since it gonna use Turks CMS, any chance that they also gonna consider gokdeniz as a competitor for oerlikon for the Red white?
Its even better if they just repalce the Oerlikon gun with Gokdeniz/RIM-116.

they should use a new and bigger platform and turn it to a real air defense asset, 2/3 CIWS with a lot of combo of short, med, long range air defense missiles.

i'm thinking about GOKDENIZ ER in the front and milenium gun in the back
reducing a little bit of those "logistical nightmare" stuff if we chose oerlikon while GOKDENIZ ER is a new type of CIWS in it's class in TNI's inventory

The difference between air defense ship or not lies in one's ship ability to do either area defense or point defense. Imo all Capital ships regardless of their main mission should have at least a decent missile based ciws, just to defend themselves. Guns are not going to cut it anymore.

Ships like Martadinata/BungTomo/Diponegoro wouldn't survive missile barrage with only 1 millennium gun. They at least need one missile ciws per ship.

Just look at what armada Mexico or Qatari navy done with their Reformador or Doha class. That's imo a balanced approach for arming ships at <3500 tons.

Test depth or maximum rated depth may vary, but maximum operational depth would remain the same, in my opinion.
212NFS is more of an Italo 212 design rather than a stripped down, downgrade 212. It's more about incorporating Italian components replacing the German ones to preserve Italian industrial capacity and capability, while also improving some aspects like the li-ion batteries. Obviously also means less sensitivity in exporting the desing in part of the Germans.

For the submergible depth, it depends on various things not just the materials, such as hull design itself, though if we are speaking of similar hull dimensions like that between 212 and 212NFS, hull constructed from HY100 could withstand higher pressure and therefore depth than current best amagnetic steel used on submarines.

What submergible depth are you referring to? Theoretical, test, operational? When it comes to operational-test depth it depend on more than just the pressure hull material but also pumps,seal, connections. Change of material affects theoretical depth but does little effect on operational depth.

Not all navies also perform or care to test the test depth, they stick by operational depth in sea trials and continue with it. Type 214 has test depth of 400 meters (doubting if tested that far but likely certified for that) but doubting if it would operate below 250 meters. While mentioned test depth of Type 212 (referring to wikipedia as being the mere source of this claim) should be the operational depth. Its test depth should be somewhere between 300 to 400 meters. Theoretical depth (crush depth) of the platforms change by a certain percentage, hence the pressure hull diameter.

That was what i am referring to in short, 214 in 212 appearance means it will be 212 without the things (or capabilities) that Germans not willing to export anyone but Italy.
