PT PAL Indonesia Collaborates on a Number of Sea Defense Strategic Projects

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PT PAL Indonesia Kaharuddin Djenod said, in 2022, PT PAL Indonesia won the government's trust in the refurbishment project of 41 warships which also involved 9 national private shipyards.

"In the international market, PT PAL Indonesia is entrusted with building a number of Landing Platform Dock (LPD) type warships, namely a 124m Landing Dock (LD) for the Philippines Navy and a 163m Landing Platform Dock (LPD) for the UAE (United Arab Emirates) Navy," said Kaharuddin in his written statement quoted, Sunday (5/2/2023).

It is hoped that the initiation from Wantanas in collaboration between PT PAL Indonesia and PT Sukses Cemerlang Sempurna Group, is expected to become a commitment for all parties to work together to realize national independence.

"Remembering the independence of the defense industry is important and urgent," said Hardjo.

Hardjo said, PT PAL Indonesia is collaborating with the SCS Group to increase the use of domestic components, so as to reduce dependence on imports.

"This collaboration is a manifestation of the attention of the National Defense Council to the domestic defense industry to accelerate the vision of self-sufficient defense equipment," he said. (Nis)
