The Latest Innovation Project of PT Dirgantara Indonesia, There is a National Missile

TEMPO.CO, Bandung - President Director of PT Dirgantara Indonesia Elfien Goentoro revealed that the company is developing three innovations despite the declining global aerospace market. All three are part of the national strategic program, namely the Black Eagle combat drone (PUNA MALE, Medium Altitude Long Endurance Unmanned Aircraft), N219 Amphibious (N219A) and National Missiles.
The N219 Amphibious aircraft, for example, can be an effective link between the islands of Indonesia. “Flights and shipping are an important part of a country like Indonesia. Its function is to reach and connect the 3T regions, namely the outermost, leading and underdeveloped areas," said Elfien, quoted from his written statement, Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
Elfien said the existence of the N219 Amphibious aircraft could also cut the need for airport infrastructure, as well as encourage the development of the tourism sector without the need to depend on the presence of an airport. "Because it can land in the coastal areas of tourist islands that are targeted by tourists," he said.
The N219 Amphibious aircraft is currently undergoing the development of a floater, or a float leg that will be installed in the fuselage to replace the landing gear. Thus, the plane can take off and land on the surface of the water.
The other two innovations are considered strategic for the independence of the domestic defense industry as well as the defense of national security. Starting from PUNA MALE Elang Hitam which was developed by a consortium consisting of PT DI as the lead integrator, then PT Len Industri, LAPAN, Balitbang Kemhan, Dislitbang TNI AU, Pothan Kemhan, BPPT, and ITB.
The Black Eagle is designed to be able to fly for 24 hours and will continue to be developed so that it can be used for combatants, as well as to meet the needs of the Indonesian Air Force defense system.
For Missile or the National Missile was also developed by a consortium consisting of PT DI as the lead integrator, PT Len Industri, PT Pindad, and PT Mulatama. The missile developed is a surface-to-ground missile to meet the needs of the TNI's defense equipment. The missile certification target is 2024.
