Good to hear, hopefully would be fruitful soon

Radar program in ITB has very few students due to Indonesia not having real Radar manufacturing companies. CEO of PT Ratelindo that participate in the program is also ITB graduate in Radar (Master degree). We can see real research on GCI radar in ITB do take place by searching on their website or just googling.

This is why PT LEN Industry will try to establish Radar industry in Indonesia so that more students are willing to enter Radar program in ITB. What has been done by PT LEN Industry is already a good start, without establishing a local radar company, no one is willing to study in Radar program since it will be useless. Basically we should cooperate with established radar company like Leonardo and Thales to provide current TNI needs while in the process of doing that we are growing more local experts and professionals in this area. The program also will give more fund for Radar research in ITB and LIPI.

That radar is indeed cooperation with Leonardo or Thales, while it is look like the way they try to get TOT to build more indigenous one with other companies like PT LAPI ITB ( company made by ITB (Bandung Institute of Technology)) and PT Info Global. LIPI in other document is also involved. IMO, people in ITB has good knowledge on radar development in term of research and many of their lectures and Phd students will likely be participated. The indigenous one is targeted to be revealed in 2024.

What happened to our radar co-op with Iran ?

There is no cooperation with Iran, it was just MOU. My cousin was in Radar division in LIPI and he said nothing happen with that cooperation, he was then assigned into Artificial Intelligent research and now something else, look like no long term R&D project in LIPI for this particular area or my cousin is really good at anything.

Ukraine and Indonesia will develop their partnership in the field of security and defense, the press service of Ukraine's state arms exporter Ukrspecexport has told Ukrinform.

According to the report, such an agreement was reached at a meeting between Vadym Nozdria, Director General of Ukrspetsexport, which is part of the state defense conglomerate Ukroboronprom, and a delegation of the Indonesian Air Force that arrived in Ukraine.

Nozdria said that the Ukrainian side is ready to support the high dynamics of cooperation in the implementation of bilateral projects in the aviation industry, including the repair and modernization of equipment. According to the press service, respective contracts were signed during the meeting.

"Indonesia has been a longstanding reliable partner of Ukraine in defense cooperation, so we are interested in mutual benefits from the development of military and technical potential of our countries," he said.

The basis for the development of military and technical partnership between the two countries is the agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Indonesia on cooperation in the defense sector, which outlines the general principles of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Both parties may cooperate in the field of procurement of armaments and military products as part of joint projects, production, supply of weapons and other military goods, as well as maintenance, repair and modernization of armaments.

(4/11/2021)

Chairman of the House of Representatives Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) Fadli Zon said that the Indonesian House of Representatives had ratified the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of Ukraine regarding cooperation in the defense sector. Fadli stated that the agreement was held with the aim of further strengthening the foundation for the advancement of cooperation in the defense sector between the two countries.

“Especially in obtaining the Main Weapon Defense System (Alutsista). The development of the defense industry and cooperation between the two countries that allow mutual transfer of weapons, especially in the development of smart weapons," said Fadli after holding a courtesy call with the Ukrainian Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr. Vasyl Hamianin at the Indonesian Parliament Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (4/11/2021). Also present were BKSAP Deputy Chair Putu Supadma Rudana (F-Democrat) and BKSAP Deputy Chair Mardani Ali Sera (F-PKS).

According to Fadli, the signing and ratification of the cooperation agreement can reaffirm the importance of the inter-parliamentary relations between Indonesia and Ukraine. Especially, continued the member of the Gerindra Party faction in the DPR RI, in supporting diplomacy and contributing to better relations between the two countries in the future.

However, according to Fadli, the implementation of cooperation in the defense sector is still in process. Given, this happened because of the many offers given by the Government of Ukraine to Indonesia. "Because there are quite a lot of offers from their side, but of course we also need to see what our priorities and needs are," said the Member of Commission I of the DPR RI.

Closing his presentation, Fadli hoped that the establishment of cooperation in the defense sector between the two countries could benefit Indonesia by having defense technology in Ukraine and could strengthen relations between the two countries. "Through cooperation in the defense sector as well, I hope that the two countries can continue to support each other on various issues of mutual interest, especially at the United Nations," concluded the West Java V electoral district legislator.

Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir held a meeting with Qatari Minister of Defense Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah to discuss the follow-up to the cooperation between Pindad and Barzan Holding Qatar.

"With the Minister of Defense of Qatar, Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah. This meeting is a follow-up to the cooperation between Pindad and Barzan Holding Qatar, which has been knitted by the Minister of Defense, Pak Prabowo Subianto @prabowo," Erick wrote on his official Instagram account @erickthohir, Monday, 8 November 2021.

During the meeting, Erick stated that Barzan was willing to cooperate with the defense industry company engaged in manufacturing military products in Indonesia.

"Not only business, but also includes technology transfer and development of Pindad's human resources so that they can compete with global value chains," he said.

Previously, Erick also explored a number of investment cooperation with Qatar during his visit to the Middle Eastern country. One of them is the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) investment agency, which claims to be impressed with the potential and development of business in Indonesia, especially in the fields of tourism and energy.

According to Erick, Qatar is very impressed with the development that Indonesia has continued to carry out over the past few years under the leadership of President Joko Widodo. With the potential of resources, both natural and human, that Indonesia has, investors believe in investing.

This trust, said Erick, is proof that this nation has all the prerequisites to continue to grow, both in terms of quality and quantity of the economy.

like some of the forum member here said, any new F-15 fresh order would use EX/Eagle 2 airframe, if US decide to not give indonesia newest F-15, then it's probably an upgraded EDA from their stock, which i will strongly suggest our side need to reconsidered.

but they're talking about pindad though.

You just cant relly on domestic sales to sustain your industry to stay alive.

Kozak 2M hull. From the looks of it, it's not very V-shape like dedicated MRAP such as Bushmaster and Casspir.

Considering this we can make Turangga and P2 as MRAP
