Do you think in how many weeks/months/years will this program be abandoned and officially enter "1001-Prototype Museum"?

Jakarta (17/03) – Representing Plt Katimlak KKIP, Head of Planning for KKIP Rear Admiral TNI (Purn) Darwanto, MAP, with Plt. Deputy for Politics, Law, Defense and Security of Bappenas, Dr. Slamet Soedarsono, MPP, QIA, CRMP, CGAP, CACP carried out a working visit to PT. Krakatau Steel, in Cilegon, Banten, last Wednesday, March 15.

In the group, the Head of Technology Transfer and Offset Dr. Yono Reksoprodjo, Korsahli KKIP Rear Admiral TNI (Purn) Dr. Mulyadi, KKIP Research and Development Expert Staff Dr. Prof. Colonel Chk Heru Eko Budi Susilo, SH, and secretariat staff M. Idhan Chaer.

The delegation was received by representatives from the research and human divisions of PT. Krakatoa Steel. In his opening explanation, representatives of PT. Krakatau Steel stated that PT. Krakatau Steel is committed to increasing TKDN by implementing various steps such as certification and research on substitute products for imported steel products.

Dr. Slamet Soedarsono, who is also the Head of KKIP Funding and Financing, explained that his visit departed from the reality that the use of imported steel is still rife in defense industry products.

This has an impact on the TKDN value of downstream products of the defense industry (alutsista) which is not encouraging.

He stressed that steel production capability is a reflection of the country's strength. Therefore he emphasized the need for independent mastery of technology.

Krakatau Steel is known to have diversified its business fields, which include industrial steel, construction steel, industrial water, industrial pipe, to electric power.

In the defense sector, this largest steel company in Indonesia has become a supplier of raw materials for bailey bridges, infrastructure development for headquarters/posts/barracks, and warship hulls.

In the future, it is targeted to be able to supply raw materials for ranpur/rantis bodies(Armor Plating for Armored Vehicle), gun barrels, RPS nozzles, and RPS casings.

The KKIP delegation highlighted foreign steel which is more competitive in terms of price and stock availability. As a result, a number of defense industries are still importing steel plates from other countries such as Singapore which has stock for purchase in limited quantities.

Under these conditions, it is difficult for the domestic defense industry to meet the minimum TKDN value threshold emphasized by the government for defense and security personnel procured from within the country.

Krakatau Steel responded that compensating for the defense industry's insignificant business value is not easy, especially when it comes to providing new infrastructure.

Nevertheless, PT. Krakatau Steel claims that it is currently trying in stages to be able to play a bigger role as a tier-4 (raw material producer) for the defense industry.

This year's KKIP Funding and Financing sector has an agenda to review the TKDN values and calculations at each tier/level of the defense industry. Previously, Mr. Slamet also made a visit with a similar agenda to PT. Pindad and PT. Infoglobal.

The government has recently intensified the Increase in Use of Domestic Products (P3DN) to suppress imports and advance the domestic industrial ecosystem.

Philippine is our potential customer, don't let them disappointed, I am just worried with PT PAL contract on Philippine 2nd batch LPD, until today there is no news about first steel cutting or first keel laying I am afraid it will be late delivered.

RI Is Secretly Developing Missiles

The two sides signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement on the joint-production of the ADS-400 Intermediate Air Defense Missile Complex. Republikorp is a defense company under the guidance of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia which is designated as a defense industry.

ADS-400 is an air defense missile complex equipped with missiles, launchers and radars used as a weapon system to protect an area from attack by fifth generation aircraft, helicopters, UAVs and cruise missiles.

The ADS-400 has a detection range of up to 470km and a missile range of up to 100km. This latest missile system was developed by Roketsan, Turkey and Retia, Czech Republic by hooking up Republikorp as a domestic industrial partner for production cooperation and local integration.

"This cooperation is increasingly strategic, as a form of our sincere friendship with the Republic of Indonesia, we will continue to grow it," said Milos Sivara, CEO of Excalibur International, a defense exporter company from the Czech Republic which is part of Czechoslovakgroup a.s.

A bit misleading, the missile itself just 100 km range.

This basically TriSula, right?

Btw, reading news from Max defense, it seems Philippines sent away their C130 and C295 for regular maintenance and repair abroad, usually in Europe and North America, in which i don't know if it related to their contract support agreement or not. But still it is represent a great opportunity for maintenance work for Indonesian aircraft maintenance companies like GMF and Merpati Maintenance

Madrid-based Alpha Unmanned Systems (AUS) has established a licensed manufacturing partnership with Indonesian company PT Indadi Venyro in a bid to expand the former's footprint across Southeast Asia.

The partnership agreement was established in April 2023 after PT Indadi Venyro agreed to invest in AUS as a minority equity partner, said the companies in a joint statement provided to Janes on 20 April.

Besides licensed manufacturing, the agreement would allow PT Indadi Venyro to provide local maintenance and support for AUS products in the region, the statement added.

AUS has supplied a maritime variant of its Alpha 900 rotor-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (BAKAMLA).

These UAVs are in operation on the service's largest vessels – the 110 m patrol vessel KN Tanjung Datu (1101), and the 80 m Pulau Nipah-class patrol boat KN Pulau Marore (322).

The Alpha 900 has a maximum take-off weight of 25 kg and a maximum cruise speed of 100 km/h. At the cruising speed of 60 km/h on its full payload, the UAV has an endurance of up to 2.2 hours. The UAV has a helicopter-like configuration with a tail and main rotors.

In BAKAMLA service, the Alpha 900 has been equipped with the Epsilon 140LC dual-sensor surveillance system from Octopus ISR Systems. The surveillance system's camera sensor has a 30x optical zoom while its infrared sensor has a 4x digital zoom.
