Just realized, PT PINDAD actually still producing and offered 7,62x39 caliber bullets for AK families... considering such caliber is not much popular anymore even in their home countries like Russia or Ukraine in which prefer 5,45x39 caliber bullets.

"a collaboration of 4 companies between PT Pindad, PT Pindad Engineering Indonesia, BS Indonesia and Kyeong In Tech which have signed a joint MOU for the development of Remote Control Weapon System technology or known as RCWS.

On May 20, 2022, Engineering Manager of PT Pindad Enjiniring Indonesia, Garry Varian and the review team of PT Pindad paid a working visit to South Korea and were greeted directly by CEO Kyeong in Technology Choi yong-jun, Senior Managing Director Seunghwan Cho, General Managing Jaeha Shin, International Business Development Jaehee Lee and other officials.

The agenda of this visit is intended to review and test the development of RCWS (Remote Controlled Weapon System) weapons products which will be sent back to PT Pindad Engineering Indonesia for further testing internally at PT Pindad facilities and product certification will be carried out with external testing with End Users. namely the Indonesian National Army (TNI).

If everything goes smoothly and is in accordance with the standards, this RCWS product will be included in the Indo Defense exhibition in November 2022.

It is hoped that in the future with the development of weapons from this collaboration, an effort can be made to realize the innovation target as an Advanced Weapon System. So that this RCWS (Remote Controlled Weapon System) product can increase the capability and capacity of PT Pindad's weapon products and PT Pindad Engineering Indonesia as the only subsidiary of PT Pindad which also has a special Defense Industry production permit for RCWS, which can help mass-produce and manufacture Indonesia is proud to be able to produce sophisticated weapons made in the country."

Why not trying to put more effort into respati and trying to mass production them by colaboration between private industry and SOE ?? This is not high tech high end rocket science technology in which need hundreds million US Dollar development costs, this is stupid wonder on our side which need to be resolved

Respati Solusi Rekatama made an RCWS that can lock-on target, but from their video the RCWS is not vertically stabilized. Their RCWS has been certified back in November 2019.

Ansa Solusitama Indonesia made a gunshot detection system for RCWS but it is unclear whether they made their own RCWS. The RCWS shown below is very tall compared to Respati RCWS.

Thales, PT Len partner for Indonesia's new air surveillance radars

by Oishee Majumdar

PT Len and Thales have agreed to collaborate on supplying the GM403 air surveillance radar (pictured above in operation in Estonia) to Indonesia. (Thales Raytheon Systems)

Thales will be partnering with Bandung-based state-owned defence electronics firm PT Len Industri to supply Ground Master 403 (GM403) air surveillance radars and SkyView command-and-control (C2) system to Indonesia.

Both PT Len and Thales confirmed to Janes that 13 units of GM403 will be manufactured to meet the needs of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).

The contract will “run from 2023 to 2028”, a spokesperson for PT Len told Janes on 31 May.

In a joint media release on 31 May, Thales and PT Len said the new radar system will be installed across the Indonesian archipelago enabling TNI “to detect all types of threats, from jets and missiles to hovering helicopters and UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles]”.

Under the agreement, Thales will focus on building the radars and C2 while PT Len will construct the radar stations, provide installation and integration of the systems and manage civil works for the programme with support from Thales, the media release said.

“Certain components on the radars will be locally manufactured by PT Len, and the project will involve the transfer of radar technology” as well as strengthening of local defence industry capabilities, the release stated.

A spokesperson for PT Len told Janes that the company will be locally manufacturing the octopacks of GM403's transmit/receive (T/R) modules as part of the offset agreement.

Olivier Rabourdin, country director for Thales in Indonesia, told Janes

quite extensive cooperation i would say, and the offset is quite clear

a little bit quote from wikipedia.

The GM400 family includes the GM403 and the GM406. The GM406 has a transmitter which is twice as powerful as the GM403, giving it 20% greater range, increasing from 390 km to 450 km. The GM406 is primarily designed to equip fixed sites, with the GM403 designed to be deployable.

based on what Thales and LEN said, normally it would mean that this radar is for fixed sites right.
why don't the go straight to GM406??

Btw, with the Italian radar, Air Force would have 14 units new radar.

Just notice there is a lot of old trainer propeller aircraft in Indonesia Air Force inventory near their end of use lately, can they being converted into drones used as bait or target aircraft ? The Azeris use of AN 2 aircraft as bait is quite successfull to attracting the enemy firepower and opened the chance to targeting them with Loitering munition
