PT Pindad President Director Abraham Mose said that in 2023, from defense system equipment products, his party is completing 18 Tiger medium tanks, then 23 Pandur 8x8 tactical vehicles.

Apart from that, said Abraham, the Ministry of Defense also ordered up to 5,000 Maung 4x4 operational vehicles (ranops) for the first phase.

A total of 50 initial production units of Maung cars, he said, will be exhibited at the TNI anniversary commemoration on October 5 2023, which will be followed by mass production with a one year target of reaching 1,500 units.

"That was 1,500 units in one year. So in the second year we had 3,000 and continued up to 5,000," he said. For industrial products that will be available in 2023, PT Pindad makes tractors, excavators, gas cylinders and others.

We allready have too much of it . Yet , the producer are simply " nyadar diri " with the Indonesia army budgeting condition and procurement priorities ...
Mobil dinas were always first and foremost in every round of procurement process ....

but expecting it will come with at least STANAG level 2 like the Humvee wont be too much right?

If you ask for my preferences ... i wish for a JLTV class . But , reality dictates us otherwise ...


My comment were a simple pat on the shoulder's producers . They just add another item to the " checked , apreciated but never get procured " list ...

The Indonesian Minister of Defense received a visit from the South Korean DAPA Minister

On Friday, October 6 2023, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, received a courtesy call from the Minister of DAPA of South Korea, H.E. Mr. Eom Donghwan at the Ministry of Defense office.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister of Defense Prabowo said "thank you and appreciate Mr. H.E Eom Donghwan who was present visited the Ministry of Defense office."

Indonesia is satisfied with the cooperation that has been established with Korea in the field of defense industry and recognizes the progress achieved so far.

Shared exchange of expertise and experience has proven invaluable in enhancing the defense capabilities of both countries.

Indonesia also appreciates Korea's interest in advancing defense industrial cooperation between the two countries.

Indonesia remains committed to exploring new opportunities to strengthen collaboration and is open to discussing ways to facilitate stronger technology transfer.

Indonesian Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense, the Director General of Defense Ministry of Defense, the Head of Research and Development of the Ministry of Defense and the Managing Director of PT Dirgantara Indonesia.

Defense Minister Prabowo warmly welcomed the arrival of South Korean DAPA Minister H.E Mr. Eom Donghwan at the Ministry of Defense office.

At the end of the discussion regarding increasing cooperation in the defense sector, Minister of Defense Prabowo gave a souvenir in the form of a traditional Indonesian weapon, namely a keris.***
