A little bit more about Rhan-122 status now

  • LAPAN production line ability to manufacture Rhan-122 is around 200-250 munitions/year, understandable because LAPAN is a research orgs not an military inductrial complex enterprise.
  • Dahana will eventually produce up to 1000 rockets/year, will invest in propellant production equipment such as lining equipment and mixers with a capacity of 600 liters with a capacity of 100 liters per unit. This is done with the hope of achieving the production of propellant intended for 500 rocket units (for now).
note: in other reports I read they manage 400 for LAPAN, I'll try search again for that one

That's fuckin low tbh. consider each Grad-like launcher (RM-70/Vampir and Type 90B) has at least 40 launch tubes per truck. They need Dahana to expand motor production line like 100 times that just to sustain firing in high-intensity conflict

The Case bonded method will accelerate motor production time.

Average Grad 122mm burn time is 3 seconds, but again what is the specific thrust here ?

Rhan-122B with free standing method production motor burn time is 3.3 seconds for comparison.

Janes earlier reported that PT Pindad has been producing the R-Han 122B for the Indonesian Marine Corps on a low-rate initial production (LRIP) basis since 2017, but the service needs more than 1,000 rounds of the Global Positioning System (GPS) and inertial navigation system (GPS/INS)-guided weapon across its three divisions by 2024.

The R-Han 122B has a calibre of 122 mm, an overall length of 2,810 mm, and is driven by a hydroxylammonium nitrate (HAN) rocket motor, according to PT Pindad.

The weapon has a 3.3 second burn time and can carry payloads weighing up to 15 kg over a maximum range of 35 km at a speed of Mach 1.8.
