Athens, Greece (21/11) – As a commitment and concrete step to meet the needs of the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (BAKAMLA) for the procurement of N219 Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSA), PTDI signed a Framework Agreement (FA) with Scytalys, a leading Greek-based software development and systems integration company, to collaborate on delivering a maritime surveillance platform designed to meet BAKAMLA's operational needs, from monitoring strategic waters to supporting the strengthening of Indonesia's maritime security system. The FA was signed by PTDI President Director Gita Amperiawan and Scytalys CEO George Menexis, witnessed by the Head of BAKAMLA, Rear Admiral Irvansyah, and the Indonesian Ambassador to Greece, Bebeb Abdul Kurnia Nugraha Djundjunan, at the Indonesian Embassy in Athens, Greece.

This FA serves as a crucial foundation for PTDI to ensure that the N219 MSA aircraft it will develop truly meets the operational needs of the Indonesian Coast Guard (BAKAMLA). In the N219 MSA program for BAKAMLA, PTDI acts as the prime contractor, managing the entire technical configuration process, ensuring that the final design of the N219 MSA aircraft aligns with the maritime surveillance mission requirements carried out by BAKAMLA. Meanwhile, Scytalys will provide and integrate the MIMS Airborne Mission System, the core of this aircraft's surveillance capabilities.

To support the enhancement of national maritime security capabilities, BAKAMLA has submitted an official requirement to the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas for the procurement of four N219 MSA aircraft and all supporting equipment, including MSA kits, personnel training, spare parts, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), and a five-year Fleet Readiness package covering maintenance and technical assistance. "Because we have domestic products, we are maximizing the use of domestic products, which in this case, PTDI can meet the needs," said Rear Admiral Irvansyah.

The N219 MSA aircraft developed by PTDI will be equipped with a range of modern surveillance capabilities, from a tactical datalink and mission console that ensure real-time data processing, to a radar with a range of 160 Nautical Miles (NM) and an EO/IR system capable of detecting objects at distances of up to 20 km. With an operational radius of up to 200 NM and an endurance of over five hours, the N219 MSA is believed to provide high flexibility for medium-range maritime patrol missions and territorial waters monitoring. This development program is targeted to enter the commissioning and contract signing phase by the end of 2026.

"Once PTDI is assigned to fulfill the MSA aircraft requirement for the Indonesian Agency for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (BAKAMLA), this will also mark a new milestone for PTDI, as this is the first N219 aircraft with the MSA configuration that we will design," added Gita Amperiawan.
