Is there any plans in tureky to enter on mobile phones market, especially now that you opened your domestic chip factory?

Give us 7 years ok, no rush.

There are 3-4 Turkish brands in the market already but they don't make the components. Some make the mainboard though.

There are 3-4 Turkish brands in the market already but they don't make the components. Some make the mainboard though.
Why that long? With aselsan ofshots it should be easy, only thing that you can not overcome fast are displays, soith korea has monpoly over it.

Our chip is powerless, the cheapest smartphone on the market sports a 32nm chip. We don't know how many years it will take for us to get there from our intended 65nm and single core to multiple core.

Update: For the record I have found one of each of 45nm 40nm and 32nm smart phones that are still on the market. All Samsung models Galaxy S3 (4 cores), Grand Neo (4 cores) and S3 Mini (2 cores) models. All other smartphones are 28nm at worst.

I actually like how he researches and makes these videos. But the gist of it is, Vestel makes smartphones, but they're not very good. problem is you need best customer service to be able to achieve progress, and he explains how the chinese do it.

In Kayseri, ASPİLSAN Enerji AŞ and South Korean firm Top Battery Co. Ltd. Technology transfer contract for Li-ion Battery Cell Production Facility Project was signed with a ceremony.



Speaking at the ceremony held at ASPİLSAN Energy Facilities in Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ) ASPİLSAN Energy Chairman Assoc. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Doğankaya said that today is very meaningful.

Doğankaya stated that today will take its place as a historical day in the films describing ASPİLSAN in the future.

"The whole world is talking about it. Lithium ion will be like petroleum. It was even on the news this week that some countries are ending the use of oil. Northern European countries are especially. As a result, the battery will enter our lives much more in the future. I am proud to be a pioneer in this issue. The thing that will make us national and make us different from others is today, I am signing the technology transfer, but after that it will be to design this product and similar energy products. I sincerely believe that our youth and university students have this belief. I believe we will be able to design the best. "

Drawing attention to nationality and indigenousness, Doğankaya noted that they have to do their best to use the very high level of dependency due to globalization to their advantage.

ASPİLSAN Energy General Manager Ferhat Özsoy stated that the company, which was founded about 40 years ago with the donations and support of the citizens of Kayseri, has left another important stage behind in its 40th year.

Özsoy stated that they have started the technology transfer they started with their German friends in 1981 with South Korea as of today, and emphasized that this situation is a sign that technology is now rising not only from the west but also from the east.

Özsoy stated that as ASPİLSAN Energy, they hope to make their contracts in the next period in the form of the transfer of technologies developed by them with their friends in other countries.

At the ceremony, Sadık Piyade, General Manager of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, Top Battery Co. Ltd. CEO Whan Jin Roh and Director of ASPİLSAN Energy Investment Projects Management Office Nihat Aksüt also gave speeches.

After the speeches, a technology transfer agreement was signed.

Summit and Sierra supercomputers, one of the most advanced supercomputers in the world, use IBM Power9 microprocessors. Turkey, in 2015 to be included in this microcontroller design team missed the last moment.
Note: 1 microprocessor has 1,572,480 cores in Sierra

Hello. I would like to know about Anka and TB-2. I was under the impression that Anka is %100 Turkish State Made not any privet sector involved. And all the revenue from this drone goes directly to state.

In TB-2 project however there are orders from TSK and Bayraktar Holding made the drone. They bought engine and optics from Canada and Germany. And all the revenue from this drone goes to Bayraktar.

And in the end these drones are the same mostly, right? They both carry 1 load per flight, they can do survalience and such. They are essentially same. And in order to make these drones work efficiently you need to clear the area from anti air and you need to have a hammer like Turkish KORAL, right?

I am just asking. Thank you.

They are not exactly the same. Both TB-2 and Anka uses some foreign tech but also both drones are undergoing changes in their capabilities and national input. I am not exactly sure what you mean by one payload per flight but I will try to brief it in a simple manner for you and also for other readers.

They have some difference both on performance level and also ability to carry different types of payloads. ANKA is more advanced both in terms of technical specification and the ability to carry different types of payloads like SATCOM, SAR radar, ELINT/SIGINT equipment. TB-2 on the other hand is the workhorse of the TSK with its cheaper production and simplicity.

In order to make these drones work you must have the upper hand when it comes to air superiority firstly. One of the phases of that is eliminating the air defence threats to the forces operating in the area. While advanced EW is not a must it certainly provides a force multiplier and needed capability in terms of detecting, jamming and deceiving enemy radars. When the enemy radars are blinded drones in the kind of TB-2 can safely enter firing range flying at higher altitude than the effective ranges of the short range/low altitude air defence systems, conduct its SEAD or recon mission and return. While for certain there are more effective ways of destroying or suppressing enemy air defence systems than hitting them with TB-2 I doubt if there is a cheaper way of doing that. That way TSK shows its absolute superiority over the enemy air defences and have the luxury to play it cheap.

Both Anka and TB-2 are still being revised and upgraded. Together with nationally produced engines they are also getting nationally produced EO systems.

For example in the case of Anka its most recent modification is Anka +. The upgrades are flapless wing design, improved fuel capacity to 730lt from previously 530lt, improved payload capacity from previously 200kg to 350kg and in addition to the two existing pylons there are two more which makes four pylons in total.

In the case of TB-2 we still don't have enough information but for now we can see, frame improvement, SATCOM capability, more powerful engine as the biggest improvements that Baykar are working to show us soon.

I am actually not exactly sure as I am not well informed about the marketing and the financial procedures in terms of arms exports but that sounds logical.

In both cases hopefully the capital remains in the companies and fund future developments (most likely) and they pay their fair share to the local suppliers and maybe % for the use of technology and intellectual property developed by state institutes.

For example I wonder if TÜBITAK or any other institute develops and invents IP they probably give the license of those products to these companies and gets money in exchange. Does anyone know how it exactly works?

To the companies i suppose,
But usually there are regulations regarding to the sales that some portion of the profit is collected in R&D funds managed by SSB. Especially in this case SSB has financed development of both platforms, which will indeed will get a loyalty for IP rights,i am not sure about how this loyalty has been utilized but definitely to fund other development projects.
