Navy Iran Set to Unveil Domestically Manufactured Military Hovercraft

With the past years having been spent under an international ban on weapon sales, Iran has built its own defence industry, developing and manufacturing new jets, missiles, warships and other armaments all by itself. The ban was lifted by most of the UN states in 2020 with Tehran hoping to enter the global defence market with its own products.
The Islamic Republic of Iran will soon unveil a new military vehicle, a hovercraft, according to Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi. The country's navy will get the first deliveries of the new amphibious vehicle after 21 March, when the Iranian new year starts.

The forthcoming addition to the Islamic Republic's military might, capable of moving both on the water and the ground and allowing quick transportation of troops across water surfaces, was developed domestically and will be manufactured by Iran itself.

Khanzadi praised the growing role of the domestic defence industry in the country. He noted that Tehran is at present capable of maintaining military vessels and arming them with missiles without external help. The admiral added that the Islamic Republic defence industry is now working on adding vertical-launched missiles into its arsenal.

The announcement of an Iranian hovercraft comes as Tehran continues to develop its domestic defence industry - a process which started after the UN Security Council imposed sanctions banning the sale of weapons to the Islamic Republic. The ban officially expired in October 2020 despite opposition from the US, but by that time Tehran had managed to develop a whole array of domestic armaments – from missiles and air defences, to large warships and fighter jets. Iranian officials suggested that with the lifting of the UN ban, the country might enter the global defence market and even sell its own weapons to other countries.

They should have taken a page out of Chinese book.

And built artificial islands near the Persian Gulf, Arabian Sea, Diego Garcia, Seychelles, Straits of Malacca, Sunda Straits, Red Sea, Eastern Mediterranean (near Syria, Lebanon, Palestine/Gaza etc).

Somehow the Japanese or Taiwanese never bet big on artificial islands.

We know that the Chinese, under Deng Xiaoping, took it upon themselves to benchmark against tiny (evil) Singapore (an regime, that has been an anti Islamic force for decades, hobnobbing with tiny "Israel"/Zionist regime). As Singapore built artificial islands or "reclaimed lands", so did the Chinese in South China Sea.

Nobody has the courage or wherewithals to attack Chinese forces first and initiate a conflict that can easily spiral out of control. Not the USA, not any of its client states in the region or anywhere else.

Had the Japanese or Taiwanese with plenty of coastlines and access to open seas to their East created artificial islands or "reclaimed lands" as the evil Singaporean regime did or the Chinese Communist Party has later done, the Japanese or Taiwanese would have gained more strategic depth, they could have built more industries, venues for leisure and entertainment, for research, for residential and commercial purposes and of course, they could have increased their population that would have granted them strategic autonomy against much bigger rivals or adversaries.

The Iranians can do the same and nullify any American attempts to use their navy anywhere in the Arabian Sea, Red Sea perhaps upto Diego Garcia and beyond.

Build artificial islands, militarize them, increase production of military equipment, your economy then expands, the government earns more revenue, spending on citizens can increase, the citizens can benefit too.

However, to this day, I have not found a single "desirable" indicator in which Iran (or many other countries I listed earlier) is the absolute world leader. This is unlike, say Japan, South Korea or Taiwan, which are absolute world leaders in "desirable" indicators. Tiny Taiwan's TSMC continues to lead the world.
