News IRIAF is staging a small-scale military exercise in the central province of Isfahan

On 2 November 2020, the main stage started of the 9th edition of the annual aerial exercise, named Fada’eeyan-e Harim-e Velayat. The exercise will continue for four days.

It is reported that squadrons from seven IRIAF bases participate in the exercise, which included nearly all types of the IRIAF. Strikingly a new Unmanned Aerial System (Kaman-12) was shown as well as an F-4E with a Ghased (Qased) TV-guided bomb.

The IRIAF exercise is joined by the Iranian Air Defense Organisation too, so Surface to Air Missile (SAM) systems and accompanying radars participate as well.

The first day of the exercise was centered at Shahid Babayi Isfahan Air Base. The deputy commander if the IRIAF, Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi, officially started the exercise.

According to the briefing from the spokesman for the Fada'eeyan-e Harim-e Velayat-9 exercise, Brigadier General Farhad Goudarzi, the first part of the main phase of the exercise involved Saeqeh fighter aircraft and Northrop F-5s. The succeeding phases of the exercise included F-7 and F-14 fighter aircraft, as well as Su-24.
