I would love to see the local industry producing an engine for the TFX. But I can not see it happening in short term.
2028 is the target they have put for a home grown jet engine to be ready. I hope I am wrong but it is too optimistic!
Russians have been producing jet engines for decades. Still not perfected the su57 engine.
Chinese have been working on their jet engines longer than us. Still no viable engine in sight!
The only thing that is on TEI’s side, is their cooperative work with GE over the years and the experience they have accumulated.

The Reason why Russia and China have stalled in the advanced fighter engine development maybe that the sources that have given them the tech may have stopped giving now, me thinking. Even the US has allegedly asked for Japanese tech to improve their engines. We need to see how far we can get with domestic technology alone. Once we achieve an acceptable performance we can keep improving on it. There is no match to developing your own tech when you want to gain power.

This is so naive, where the hell have you found everything ready that you want it now? The tank project started without an indigenous engine requirement and evolved into one that is fully indigenous. It is because Erdoğan insisted on a fully indigenous tank. It is both about building a tank arsenal and about building a tank making industrial base. Who cares if it is acquired through the work of certain engineers and not certain others? BMC have brought together the engineers that can make it happen, period.
Otokar has developed 5 prototypes right now. They have the infrastructure already. They have knowledge and resources to build the tank. BMC not. Thats why germans cancel the cooperation with BMC. They wont share any technology knowledge with any company without any knowledge in tank building.

Making a modern tank with full accessories totally with national capabilities is not a feat that can be achieved overnight/4 years. We are going to full extent and acquiring the entire capability. Something even the imagination of the past generation can not comprehend... Which is also imminent... Why not wait some more and see the results instead of slandering the people who is doing the incomprehensible hard work and realizing the unimaginable miracle. What ails you?

We need the tank yesterday, not tomorrow.

What about the price? Will Germans sell tanks with the price BMC is asking, of course not.
They will not share technology with Turkey in any case, no matter with what company.
With the politics of today there has never been a chance.
We will not trust anybody else's technology anymore which is the real deal breaker.

Four years? Where did you get that number, Altay program started in 2007 how is that four years?
The four years i meantioned are where the program is delayed, Otokar was capable of making the tank back in 2016 already but it didnt get it because they are not on good terms with Erdogan you can try to twist and bend this fact but reality is open to see for anyone.
And now you guys say wait for a engine that might or might not be developed successfully but lets say it will be success the most optimistic serial production date would be at least 10 years later but given the fact that Turkey has almost zero experince in that 15 years is more likely.
And then the transmission... You know what forget it, believe in it if you want, i look at the facts and to me it looks grim for Altay, maybe we should scrap the project all together, tanks seem to get obsolete in battlefields anyways.

Btw: im not slandering anyone, those who did something in regards of Altay have my full recognition but guess what, none of them is from BMC...

I dont understand, which price is BMC asking? About ToT, GER share technology with FR right now, for NG tank. Many suggestion and opinion, but less knowledge bro.

4 years is the time given to Tümosan for engine development. Tümosan recently released a video showing they hit 1011.6 hp with one of their engines. Tümosan is currently decommissioned from Altay engine development. BMC Power is developing the engine.

We are not only acquiring the possession of tanks we are attaining a position of industrialization like Germany for tank development. And unlike Germany we are not tied down with US mandates thanks to Erdoğan's iron resolve which puts Turkey in the top Tank makers list. No one will give such a power to someone else. Let alone Koch to Erdoğan's Turkey.
