Qatari PM grilled by Jewish billionaires over Hamas ties

Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met with a group of Jewish businessmen and billionaires last week to answer questions about the Gulf nation’s relationship with Hamas, Axios reported on 4 December.

According to three sources with direct knowledge of the matter, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump organized the private meeting in New York last Wednesday.

A source who attended the meeting said the Qatari prime minister spoke about his country's efforts to release Israeli captives in Gaza and answered several questions about Qatar's relationship with Hamas.

Since the outbreak of war between Hamas and Israel on 7 October, in which over 1,200 Israelis have been killed, Qatar’s role in supporting Hamas financially has come under additional scrutiny from Jewish organizations and members of the US Congress.

Qatar has transferred billions of dollars to Gaza over the past five years to help pay for salaries, fuel and aid to poor people.

Qatar also played a key role in mediating the exchange of captives between Israel and Hamas that led to a 7-day truce last week.

On 29 November, the Jerusalem Post published an opinion piece that claimed Qatar is “getting away with murder,” while asking, “How exactly has Qatar been allowed to fund terrorists and support terror for so many years while still maintaining diplomatic, economic, and military ties with the West?”

Qatar is therefore increasing its lobbying efforts in Washington to ensure its standing with the US government, and particularly with the US Congress, is not damaged.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that his country’s support for Hamas has come at the direction of the US and Israeli governments.

He explained during the meeting that Qatar's close relations with Hamas and the hosting of the group in Doha started in 2006 with the support of the George W. Bush administration, an attendee in the meeting said.

He added that the Obama and Trump administrations also encouraged Qatar to continue an open channel with Hamas to try to navigate the situation in Gaza.

According to a person who attended the meeting, the Qatari prime minister told the group that the financial support Qatar has provided to Gaza was coordinated with and approved by the Israeli government.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has acknowledged he wished to boost Hamas to keep the Palestinian national movement divided and prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state.

“Many of us came in with a negative perception of Qatar based on what we have been reading, and came away with a more nuanced understanding of the role they have been playing in Gaza, both historically and currently," one participant in the meeting said.

Another participant in the meeting said that "it was an intense conversation at times and there was some skepticism among some of us at the end of the meeting."

Billionaires attending the meeting included Bill Ackman, founder of Pershing Square Capital Management hedge fund, Mark Rowan, founder of Apollo Global Management, and Robert Kraft, owner of the NFL's New England Patriots.

Podcaster Lex Friedman also attended.

Past Qatari efforts on behalf of the US and Israel include its support for Salafist armed groups, including the Al-Qaeda affiliated Nusra Front, that attacked Syria in 2011 as part of the broader effort to topple the government in Damascus.

Al-Jazeera, the Qatari-government satellite news channel, also coordinated its Syria coverage closely with US intelligence agencies.

Anyone know the reality of this article? Basically claims that Hamas was being hosted by Qatar on orders by USA/Isreal.

Also the idea that AL-Jazeera works with US intelligence agencies sounds about right to me. There coverage of the PKK pretty much promotes the American Kurdistan project no different to say how the BBC does.

It would also make sense why Erdogan feels so confident to keep talking shit, potentially its all a ruse and away from the cameras they all work together. pseudo islamists and zionism one and the same thing.

But obviously i cant find any other reports on it, it could just be all made up.

Netanyahu himself has asked Qatar to support Hamas. Because Hamas is not legitimate like the Palestinian authority. With Hamas in power there can be no Palestinian state as they are listed as a terrorist group. See what the Palestinian authority president said.

For Netanyahu, Hamas and it's supporters have saved his government and ensured that no Palestinian state can exist.

Recently there has been social media anger over the Turkish soldier dragging the naked female PKK corpse on video, we also strip them nude because of traps or dead man/suicide bomb danger. This is not just a Western or Israel thing.

Just a quick search shows a lot of results, let's not be hypocritical.

In fact, this account constantly shares naked corpses, even females. The pictures come from serving military

The problem is that such media is shared with the public. That is when it is intended to humiliate. And we have this problem too.

That is wrong logic, you don’t need to strip people/dead people of their underwear to secure the threat of booby trap/suicide bomb. And deliberately sharing picture of women's naked dead body is undignified, no matter who did it or in what circumstances.
Hope, the investigation conclude with something meaningful. Turkish Armed Forces has a good image of professionalism and discipline. Isolated incidents should not be allowed to eclipse that.

It is fascinating how the former Ottomans lands are constantly set on fire. Not so long ago in the Balkans. Today Ukraine, the caucuses while the middle east has never been stable since the fall of the Ottomans.

I remember reading how when Jews were kicked out of England in the 12th century the nordic ruling class which heavily oppressed the Britons claimed they were committing child sacrifices and drinking their blood. Some of the shit im seeing these isrealis get up to, in an era of mobile camera phones and social media, it makes you wonder what goes on off camera.
100s of the documented and referenced cases. Even a few cases in Istanbul, usually Greek children were involved. There were the cases in Damascus, Rhodes too.
1791 in Pera a Greek child. 1882l in Galata 2 separate cases, Greek children. 1883 Galata again, again Greek child. Tripoli in Lebanon 1834, Alexandria etc.
It is always one and same answer " People are jealous on us, medieval tyranny, conspiracies" always absolutely the same and that's where the story ends usually.
Jews rule so many things, conspiracy.
Well , we all can see now who run the things. No?

You know I went down that rabbit hole a few decades ago, the conclusion i came to is that the Jews were constantly used as a smokescreen to be thrown under the bus each time the general population reached breaking point.

Its worth reading two of his books "tragedy and hope" and "the anglo-american" establishment. He was member of the groups he talks about and basically tells you how much of the world is ran by the anglo-american establishment. Not entirely ran by them but it works totally in concert with other power centres of the world.

He gives a detailed breakdown how all the various entities that exist co-ordinate and work together. I find the best books to read are the ones written by people directly involved with such things.
