Iran has unveiled a new, unusual air defense system designed to combat FPV and drones—the Jaljaleh aerial mine. The Jaljaleh anti-drone system uses acoustic sensors that detect engine sound, then fires a cluster of submunitions into the air, which destroy enemy drones. Upon detonation, the Jaljaleh munition creates a continuous kill zone with a radius of five meters, at an altitude of up to 350 meters, with a maximum fragmentation range of 15 meters. The fragments are ejected at a speed of 2,000 meters per second. The mine can also destroy low-flying helicopters.
