These 2 and 26 other examples were embargoed by the U.S due to Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program. Finally after 911, 14 examples were released to Pakistan and the rest were paid back in soybeans. Beware the big bad wolf

The 28 aircraft part of a 71 aircraft agreement were divided evenly between the USAF and USN. the USAF agreed to deliver the aircraft to Pakistan but the USN refused. The 43 balance were never manufactured by LM.

The AH-1 Cobra. Pakistan operates roughly 28 examples. The rest have been cannibalised to maintain 2 Squadrons.
Pakistan had requested 12 Super Cobras but unfortunately were not delivered by the Trump Administration.
Pakistan reverted to Turkey for 30 T-129 armed helos in a US 1B$ deal but USA did not grant the NOC for the US origin powerplants.
As a last ditch effort Pakistan has tested the Chinese built Z-10ME and made some modification recommendations to the Chinese manufacturer which have been incorporated in the Z-10ME but so far no deal/decision has been made. Therefore the AH-1 Cobra has to soldier on.

The F-86 Sabre was the front-line fighter-bomber of the PAF from the mid-50s until 1980. It was involved in air combat in 48,65 and 71 against superior aircraft like the Hawker-Hunter, MiG-21 and the SU-7 of the much larger IAF.
