TC can afford IFV and should even if it's 24-36 piece a year. It doesn't say anywhere that you have to pay the entire amount when you order.

And i don't think it is that you-know-who three letter but company but some another company may pop out of nowhere and secure the deals through another three letter company, and not deliver a thing in 3 year.

Normally with FNSS or Otokar, first batch would be 2 years away top.

What is saddening they didn't even publish the result of bidding and how those wheeled IFVs were evaulated.

And it was a known fact that SSB made it compulsory to use domestic engine for wheeled IFV / APC project. All companies did so, but i think we have got someone delaying the bidding process as much as possible. I have suspected of Anzatsan honestly, is it possible them to bid extremely low unit prices by facilitating some AFBM of Army and MKE factories, land, incentives? They haven't even made it to performance tests but who cares.

Point is not to be "safe", it's to survive. Point is to not burn to death and be able to live to fight another day. Plenty of modern AFVs can offer this in their regular iteration without the use of slats, ACV can't.

What makes you think they don't already? We have 5 builders making AFVs, lowest bidder always wins even if even my grandmother knows they can't deliver it on those numbers.

TÜRASAŞ is nearing completion of the "UAIS Type Military Vehicle Transport Wagon Project" initiated upon the request of the Turkish Armed Forces.

The wagons to be delivered in 2025 were developed primarily for the transportation of Altay and M60T main battle tanks, Korkut air defense system, Kirpi armored vehicle and Samur mobile swimming assault bridge vehicles.

As a result of the studies, the tare weight of the UAIS type Military Vehicle Transport Wagon was reduced to 24.5 tons, making it possible to transport 78 of the 104 military vehicles in the Turkish Armed Forces inventory.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu:

“As a result of the design-analysis studies, the prototype manufacturing studies of the military vehicle transport wagon, which was designed in accordance with TSI standards entirely with TÜRASAŞ facilities, were completed as a result of intensive studies at the Sivas Regional Directorate, and the prototype wagon was exhibited at the meeting held with the participation of all project stakeholders in November 2023. “The welded manufacturing phase of our wagon and the static tests and tank loading tests within the scope of TSI certification studies have also been successfully completed,” he explained.

When the wagons are not used for military purposes, containers will be carried by TCDD.

This is true. Percentage wise, we probably also have more of them than the Americans as well. One thing KKK really liked and use en masse. Some of the 12 SOVs had 2 on them. The ones on these photos are two of them.

KKK tands for Kara Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı (Land Forces Command) in Turkish. US centric people who are reading this can relax, white hooded guys are not involved.

Just the stay on topic, RCWS seems to be really large, are there any project to reduce profile? Like make it smaller, hug the vehicle, maybe a little armor? O is it not a serious problem?

What? Mate RCWS is just the remote weapon turret on top of all of our vehicles how does it make a difference whether a vehicle has remote turret or not against anti-armour weapons?

Reducing visibility is a secondary concern in modern peer-to-peer conflicts. T-72s are doubling their silhouettes with the addition of top slat armor, in Ukraine. RCWS provides the crucial capability to return fire while under attack, equips small units with excellent optics, and, more importantly, adds thermal imaging. Increases firing range. In Syria, Kirpis were precisely engaging YPG targets from over 2 kilometers away. Adding a RCWS to basic vehicle maybe quadruples the combat effectiveness of that vehicle.
