Maintenance cost of the ships quadratically increases after 10th year. The increase becomes dramatic after 30 years. (Very rough numbers, assuming the expected life is 40)

Theoretically every weapon system can be invidually used as decoupled from the CMS or command structure, thus they are platform agnostic as long as they fit.

But this is not practical, maybe applied for old vessels that is switching from analogue to digital partially, or receiving an upgrade in patches but not with a solid MLU in both cases with limited service time remained.

I don't think they will only order for two vessels if they have chosen this one. Expecting them on our new frigate and at least on four more new LPC. Even on BNS BB.

According to a report published on 19th November, Bangladesh bought MLRS, AShM and air defense system from Turkey in June.

Well i am just sharing what i read in the newspaper. But i am always suspicious about any news (thanks to certain Bangladeshi defense website) until i see further confirmation from more sources or DGDP, ISPR, MoD, PM or any govt official.

Looks like a retired Brigadier General also confirmed the news about AShM on 4th September. I got another news few days ago which kinda backs this news too. I am dying to share it here but before that i must try to verify it.

That is the news related to G2G contract(s) apart from these RfPs?

It was mentioned twice, once in ASFAT & ARES MoU on OPV / FAC projects for export, another one by TAIS Director in 10th Naval Systems Seminar.

The earlier one seems to mature since it was mentioned as 'the project was expected to go full speed ahead thanks to the G2G contract signed', the latter one sounds to be under negotiation, or near to completion although he might not have told this in the presentation.

Four possible reasons for cancelling the tender.

• Financial problem
• Not getting enough suitable proposals/responses
• Got better offer like the news about Ada class here. KSY is expanding to build 3k tons ship.
• Lacking the capability to build them since KSY is upgrading it's old slipway which can dock-undock 700 tons vessel max. LPC's requirement was minimum 700 tons. Though I think DEW could've done that in it's old open space.

Alright!! The LPC project is back in action. Someone in the navy thought the same thing I did. Before this new EOI was published, I was also thinking navy should order 2 Durjoy + 2 Durgam or 2 Durjoy/Durgam + 2 Type 56 immediately to increase it's strength and deterrence against rising threat. And then this EOI was published. Quite a surprise. Second time something like this happened.

Recent MoU with Netherlands could have effect in this project.

Navy asked for 734 crore taka ($5.94 million) to construct 4 LPCs.

There have been allegations of irregularities and bias surrounding the tender process for the purchase of 4 Large Patrol Craft (LPC) for the Bangladesh Navy. According to the complainants, General Tariq Siddiqui, mentioned as ‘one of the hero’ of fascism in this procurement process, has a ‘black paw’, which they claim is worrying for the national interest.

According to the complaint, DGDP invited tenders for purchase of 4 LPCs through tender no: 06.06.0000.241.07.178.2025 on 26 December 2025 and the submission date was fixed on 26 January 2026. Complainants say the tender submission period is set in such a way that many establishments around the world are virtually closed/less active until January 7 on the occasion of Christmas and New Year. As a result, it becomes difficult for potential foreign or new prospect bidder to collect price quotations, prepare authorization letters, finalize and submit technical documentation.

There are also allegations that the time for the transfer was not extended, thereby reducing competition and creating a situation of favoring a particular party.

The charge sheet also said that the tender was purposefully arranged targeting Tariq Siddiqui's company ‘Prateek International. The complainants claimed that during the previous government, the company was involved in supplying LPC/Petrol Craft/Corvette/Submarine to the Bangladesh Navy.
