The number has increased to 12...

Is anybody going to resign?

We supposedly finished PKK. They supposedly surrendered. And you're telling me that we rushed our soldiers into a cave without appropriate equipment during "peacetime".

I'm warning you all that a few more years of this government and we'll be just like Iran or Russia.

We've seen many fiascos in recent times and nobody takes responsibility. If you don't take responsibility, it'll happen again and again.

methane, colourless, odourless gas that occurs abundantly in nature and as a product of certain human activities.

Natural methane forms by decaying biological matter and decaying biological matter stinks not the gas itself.

Yes but where would they get pure methane gas?
Methane used in homes has an odorant added, that would be easily availlable.
Naturally, methane would build up in caves. Though the problem here is PKK caves are ventilated very well. Maybe this cave was damaged 2-3 years ago which led to poor ventilation.

Why didn't they check it before entering the cave is mind baffling. Speaks for the poor CBRN awareness in Turkey and TAF

First of all, may Allah accept the martyrdom of our martyred soldier, this incident is a big mistake, doesn't the senior responsible for the soldiers pay the price in such a situation? If he pays the price, what kind of consequences will it have for him?

No, this cave is recently vacated. It used to be a hospital cave where injured terrorists got medical assistance. That is why a military op is launched to storm this cave to find the body of the martyred first lieutenant. There is no way atmospheric methane accumulates in a short amount of time; it is either biological matter decay or intentional use of methane gas.

Something doesn't add up that's for sure but what is really sad is that we will probably never get to the bottom of this.

Terrorists are announcing mourning ceremonies everywhere, they even gather up, ideal opportunity to slaughter YPG in masses and eradicate their head figures but 31 milyon yillik devlet akli. I swear if i'd been a General i would have ordered every squadron under my command to send those shitstains to donkey heaven even if it means prison etc.

It has nothing to do with the generals and everything to do with their "commander" who needs votes from terrorist sympathizers to cling onto his power just a bit longer. And all this will lead to is more death in the future.

In case anyone forgot, this isn't even the first time in the last 2 decades that terrorists have been coddled and even brought into this country as if they were anything other than murderers who deserve to be put down. That happened around the referendum and that was the first steps of where we ended up today. A country plundered of its riches and resources for the select few while its ordinary citizens suffer more and more every year.

That's utter and complete bullshit.

The only reason Öcalan is being released and terrorists are coming down from their caves openly is because Erdoğan needs votes again. He did the same thing before 2013 referendum when he needed the votes to consolidate his power and now he is doing it again because he needs the votes because his power is slipping away from him.

Last time he did this, terrorists turned the southeastern part of Turkey into a fortress and our soldiers had to fight through street by street to clear them out. The same thing will happen again, terrorists will regroup, start fortifying their positions and our soldiers will pay the price for this.

I'll be very blunt, anyone who fails to see all of this being done for the good of one man and one man alone is wilfully ignorant cultists that cannot see the obvious truth right in front of their eyes because of their blind obedience and worship to Erdoğan.

AKP makes peace with PKK a second time and those pathetic bootlickers are still pulling out made up stories from where the sun doesn't shine. National security is above economy and everything else ma little fella but those guys you worship are creating a threat for the nation for votes i.e only to stay longer in power.

You people are not only spineless, but also shameless...

Reducing everything to “Erdoğan just wants to get re-elected” is just lazy thinking. I call it “reductio ad Erdoganum”—turning every event into some grand plot by the “evil Erdoğan.” The world is shaking, the region is being reshaped, and yet many in the opposition keep repeating this same shallow line.

Of course Erdoğan is a politician, and like any politician he has elections in mind. But to act like everything starts and ends with that is absurd. A process of this scale, involving so many state institutions and political actors, simply can’t be reduced to an election stunt. The last peace process actually weakened the AK Party and cost it the ability to rule alone. If anything, making such a risky move could backfire and wipe out the government’s own power. And let’s be serious—do people really think a 77-year-old Bahçeli is risking his entire political legacy just to help Erdoğan win? That’s laughable.

Look at the timing: the October 7 Aqsa Flood, Bahçeli’s moves, the shifts in Syria, Iran losing ground… none of this is coincidence. Deals are clearly being made behind closed doors, and a new regional order is being designed. Of course, powers like Israel will try to sabotage it, because a terror-free Turkey with regional hegemony is their nightmare.

So why all this defeatism at home? The Turkish military is right there. Offering an olive branch doesn’t mean we don’t know how to swing the stick. I’m not blindly optimistic—past failures and hostile actors keep me cautious—but I’m not hopeless either. Whether people like it or not, history is moving in Turkey’s direction.

Lots of words and theories to just avoid dealing with the truth, it is kind of sad to see really. There is no conspiracy theory lad, it is a simple fact that he did this before when he needed votes and now, he needs them even more so he is doing it again. It's not a "stunt" it's a desperate attempt to cling onto power, releasing Öcalan is not a "stunt" it is a fucking capitulation of highest order and an insult every single soldier and civilians that has been slaughtered at his orders!

And Bahçeli has been Erdoğan's little pet for years now, how on earth did you miss that one? Using him as an example just shows how far you're reaching just to not see what's in front of you. I feel really sad for you, you cannot even realize that you are trapped in a cult of personality.

Turkish military is right here, yes, just as they were there the last time clean up afterwards. Were you there when the military cleaned southeast the last time lad? Did you go one street from another, slept in basements with dozens of others, watch people die? Did you see first hand how they turned our own land into a fortress against us? Turkish military should not be a fucking clean up crew so that politicians can keep their power indefinitely.
