Finally, CHP made the sensible move after 9 years of blindly supporting government in it's Syria "Policy".

Every war or conflict has it's goals;
- Political Goal
- Strategic Goals
- Tactical Goals

After 9 years in Syria we still don't know what our Political and Strategic goals are. Erdogan should first adress these issues than ask for support.

CHP asked 14 questions on mandate to support AKP, how ever no answers came.

1- What was the Syria policy in 2012, when we issued the first permit to send troops to Syria, what is the Syria policy for today's permit?

2- While all the bills in the process are issued for one year, why does this last bill cover 2 years until the end of 2023?

3- What happened to the emphasis on the east of the Euphrates in the last bills?

4- Constituting the main target of the Peace Operation; What happened to the '145 kilometers long, 30 kilometers deep safe zone' east of the Euphrates?

5- The Minister of National Defense had personally declared; 'An agreement was reached for the safe zone, Syrian refugees would be resettled in the area.' It has been 2 years, what happened to the project of transporting Syrian refugees to the safe zone?

6- What happened to the commitments we made during the Astana process referred to in the memorandum? Were we able to separate and clear the terrorist elements in Idlib?

7- What happened to the 12 observation towers we built around Idlib based on the Astana process?

8- How many of the observation towers did we empty and for what reason? How is the security of the 5 observation towers said to be under the control of the Turkish Armed Forces? What is our policy for these watchtowers?

9- What happened to the safety of the M4 - M5 motorways, which you attach great importance to? Are our soldiers patrolling with Russian soldiers?

10- What kind of response was given to Russia, which killed 33 of our soldiers in Syria?

11- Why is it not explained who and by which groups our soldiers who were martyred in Syria recently were killed?

12- Why was the ISIS militant, who ordered our soldiers to be burned to death in Syria, released in Turkey?

13- Is ISIS a target only in Syria?

14- After all these events; How will we protect our borders against the possible new wave of migration from Syria to Turkey? What measures will we take? Do you have a plan?"

I think, all of these are solid questions and it should be addressed by the government. But since Turkey is not a democratic country, we all know these questions will be left unanswered and Erdogan will accuse opposition of being terrorists as he does weekly.

It's dumb of them to oppose such a thing. Doesn't matter tbh, as long as their coalition partners act more proper.
That is a catastrophe mate!
If it did happen, then this coalition would break apart after Erdo goes!
When the parliamentary system returns and the CHP acts like assholes, the coalition will break
The CHP+HDP alone wont have majority alone
The IYI and DEVA wont have majority alone
But the AKP+MHP may have majority

At the end you will still have AKP government, then what was the use lool!?
But before the AKP rules again, I expect something similar to Israel situation of around 2 to 3 years of political unrest

Sir if the PKK reached to the Turkish-Syria border, the only ones losing are
1- the ppl
2- the TSK soldiers
3- Infiltration of PKK members
4- emboldening the kurds in turkey; thus, increasing their radicalisation

You are literally helping the PKK indirectly to bolster their forces again
You seriously have no vision whatsoever
The Syria infiltration was NECESSARY for pushing PKK away from Turkey and its borders; especially borders shared in key cities like idlib etc

No single man will wield such unmatched power. That will be the biggest gain. Besides voters vote differently in a parliamentary system. The presidential system forces people to vote for either Democrats or Republicans, black or white, AKP or CHP. The Turkish reality is different. There are a lot of people in AKP that doesn't like the corruption and economic policies of Erdo, there are a lot of people in CHP who don't want to be bunched up with HDP.

Over 400 vehicles that belong to the Turkish Armed Forces have entered the Syrian territory in the last 6 hours. A total of 35000 Turkish and local troops are expected to join the upcoming military operations.

Any kurdish terrorist with access to the internet knows what he will be in for, its no surprise that no one wants to get picked off from drone strikes.

They stay and fight, this is what will happen to them.

Pre idlib blitz, they could have hoped for something. But since the idlib blitz, complete destruction is the only result if they try to fight Turkey.

US, YPG form new armed unit on Iraqi border in northern Syria

BY DAILY SABAH WITH AGENCIES

The United States and its partner YPG, the Syrian branch of the PKK terrorist group, have formed a new border force by deploying thousands of Arab elements on the Syrian-Iraqi border. Local sources also reported that the YPG has begun a campaign of forced conscription of young people in areas under its control, ahead of a potential Turkish military operation against the group in northern Syria.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) put into practice its plans to establish border guard units in Syria in late 2017 on the grounds of "preventing the revival of Daesh," but the plan could not be implemented due to Turkey's diplomatic and military pressure.

Turkey's Operation Olive Branch in January 2018 and Operation Peace Spring in October 2019 disrupted the plans of the U.S. military.

According to the information obtained by Anadolu Agency (AA) through field research, in March, at the request of the U.S., the YPG started a new restructuring process east of the Euphrates, which will include a small number of Kurdish elements but will consist mostly of Arabs.

The organization's detention of many Arabs under the name of "conscription" caused reactions in Manbij and Raqqa in June. The YPG opened fire on civilians, causing deaths. When the events escalated, the organization took a step back and suspended the practice.

The U.S. followed two separate branches for the structuring on the Iraqi border and designed the borderline by considering the administrative borders of Hassakeh and Deir el-Zour provinces.

The U.S., which gave the Hassakeh line to the Senadid group, the extension of the Carba tribe working with the organization, gave the Deir el-Zour line to the Shammar tribe.

In mid-July, American commanders brought together the terrorist Ferhat Abdi Şahin, whom they called the "SDF general commander," with Yaver Dehham, one of the Senadid group's officers, in Hassakeh.

At the meeting, plans were discussed to recruit thousands of people for a salary to be deployed on the Syrian-Iraqi border.

In mid-August, applications for the border force began to be collected in the different regions of Hassakeh.

The U.S. made an agreement with the Shammar tribe for the border line that coincides with the territory of Deir el-Zour.

Approximately 7,000 of the applications made to enter the structure established under YPG forces were accepted.

A monthly salary of 820,000 Syrian lira ($230) was granted to those whose applications were accepted.

After about two weeks of accelerated armed training, thousands of Arabs were deployed on Syria's Iraqi border about three weeks ago.

American commanders and YPG/PKK members continue to conduct investigations in Deir el-Zour for points where they can place new elements.

While the U.S. military is funding and supporting the deployment of thousands of Arab fighters to strengthen the YPG presence on the Iraqi border, some question whether it will pursue a similar plan for the Turkish border.

On Jan.14, 2018, the International Coalition Against Daesh announced that it was forming a border guard force with more Kurds in northern Syria and more Arabs on the Iraqi border. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his speech on Jan. 15 for the new structure announced, said, "America has confessed that it has established a terrorist army along the borders of our country. Our task is to strangle this terrorist army before it is even born." Five days later, Operation Olive Branch was launched.

Forced conscription campaign

The YPG has begun a campaign of forced conscription of young people in areas under their control, ahead of potential Turkish military operation against them in northern Syria, Arabi21 also reported on Monday.

The YPG reportedly issued a circular that states the recruitment campaign's compulsory conscription will require men as young as 18 years old to join them. The U.S.-backed terrorists, who control most of northeastern Syria, have also reportedly deployed checkpoints inside Syrian cities, where many young men have been arrested and sent to training camps in the Hassakeh countryside, local sources told Arabi21.

Turkey is preparing for a new possible military operation against the YPG in northern Syria if talks on the issue with the U.S. and Russia fail, Turkish officials told Reuters recently.

President Erdoğan also said Ankara was determined to eliminate threats originating in northern Syria and that a YPG terrorist attack that killed two Turkish police officers was "the final straw."

The PKK is designated a terrorist organization by the U.S., Turkey and the EU, and Washington's support for its Syrian affiliate has been a major strain on bilateral relations with Ankara. The U.S. has primarily partnered with the YPG in northern Syria in the fight against the Daesh terrorist group. Turkey strongly opposes the YPG's presence in northern Syria, which has been a major sticking point in strained Ankara-Washington relations. The U.S. has provided military training and thousands of truckloads of weaponry to the YPG, despite its NATO ally's security concerns.

Local people living in areas held by the YPG have long suffered from its atrocities, as the terrorist organization has a notorious record of human rights abuses, ranging from kidnappings, recruitment of children, extrajudicial killings, torture, ethnic cleansing and forced displacement.

The terrorist group also seeks to recruit civilians for terrorist activities from areas under their control, including Ain al-Arab, Qamishli, al-Malikiyah, Darbasiyah, Hassakeh, Raqqa, Deir el-Zour and Manbij.

A United Nations report stated that the YPG/PKK has been recruiting children to fight among its ranks, adding that the organization has enlisted at least 400 children in the past two years.

The recruitment and use of large numbers of children were attributed to the YPG and its components, representing 35% of all verified cases, the U.N. said.

International law prohibits nonstate armed groups from recruiting anyone under 18, and enlisting children under 15 is considered a war crime.

The YPG’s use of child soldiers has been repeatedly documented and criticized by international human rights organizations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch (HRW).

Though the PKK/YPG initially signed a pledge with Geneva Call – a Swiss humanitarian organization that works to "protect civilians in armed conflict" – to stop the recruitment of children in 2014, its use of children has only increased since then.

Turkey Reinforces Syria Troops for Possible Attack on U.S. Ally

A stateless communist terrorist organisation which has been attacking Turkey for 50 years is the ALLY. Meanwhile an actual NATO ally that has been with America for the past 80 years is the enemy.

The media is nothing but pure anti-Turkey propaganda. This isn't happening by chance, this is a clear global conspiracy against the Turkish state and the Turkish people.

Believable when the Arab and Turkmen components defect, as those are the ones also on the frontlines.

They didn't defect during the previous operations and now both Russia and USA are aligned in supporting them, while SNA is about to be removed from political process of Syria after failed Geneva talks (they say unless Turkey does not veto SDF participation but I think they will proceed without SNA anyway).

Turkey has tried to bribe the Arab components in SDF before.

Russia said a lot during this talk today, basically said Afrin was human rights violations, SDF should be recognized, e.t.c.

Erdogan has somehow managed to unite Russia and America behind SDF and the economy is in toilet.

He also said Russia and Turkey disagree completely on the future of Syria. It's funny, both want a federal system but Russia doesn't want SNA and Turkey doesn't want SDF.

The Turkish Army is nobody's spare tire. Every time the government gets stuck, they make a operation. Weren't these ypg guys a danger 2 months ago? Wasn't it dangerous 3 years ago? Where were you when it happened? Will we trust you?

Every time the men get stuck, they talk to the ambassador, they say they won't give the priest, they say they are doing an operation. There are still those who play pure nationalism.

S/UAVs belonging to the coalition shot the Daesh leader named Ebu Hamza al Şühail in Ras al-Ayn.

Rasulay is also in the Turkish Control Area.

If you're aware, it's been the third, Daesh and al-Qaeda leaders are found on Turkish soil, destroyed or arrested.

These operations are carried out not by Turkish hands, but by foreign powers.

This situation causes Turkey to be presented as a terrorist financier in the international community.

Turkey will not allow any terror corridor in N. Syria: Minister Akar

BY DAILY SABAH

Defense Minister Hulusi Akar speaks to reporters in Brussels, Belgium, Oct. 23, 2021. (AA Photo)

Turkey will not allow the formation of a terror corridor near its borders in northern Syria, Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said Thursday.

Speaking after a military drill in the capital Ankara, Akar said that the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) has been closely following the developments in the defense and security of the region and has been taking necessary measures accordingly.

Stating that the TSK was going through the busiest period in the history of the republic, Akar underlined that training and exercises continue along with operational activities.

Pointing out the importance of an effective, deterrent and respectable army, Akar said: "Turkish soldiers have fulfilled and continue to fulfill the duties assigned to them in the best way. Thus, the TSK maintains its respectable and distinguished place in our region and in the world, especially in NATO, and continues to do so."

Emphasizing that the fight against terrorism continues with increasing intensity and pace, Akar said: "Our fight against terrorism, especially in the north of Iraq, continues with determination. Terrorists' dens, caves and shelters were entered, and they continue to be entered. Their lairs have fallen on their heads, they will be destroyed. Turkish soldiers fulfill their duty with unprecedented success and heroism in the field."

Emphasizing that there is no difference between the terrorist organization PKK and its Syrian branch YPG, Akar said "PKK equals YPG" and continued: "This should be known by everyone, and those who do not know should learn about it. This needs to be seen. Our struggle will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized. The point we put forward as a new defense concept is to neutralize terrorism and terrorists at their source. That's why we say that wherever the terrorist is, that's our target. We will continue to pursue terrorists."

As the minister stated since July 4, 2015, some 18,641 terrorists have been eliminated in northern Iraq. The total number of terrorists eliminated in northern Syria stands at 32,800.

Noting that their only target was terrorists, Akar said: "There were those who dreamed of establishing a terror corridor in the north of Syria. This terror corridor was destroyed on the heads of terrorists who tried to establish it. We did not and will not have this terror corridor established. For this reason, we will continue our struggle with the understanding of martyrdom if we die, and veteran if we remain. We are working for the security of our borders, our country and our nation. We have not and will not allow any formation on our borders. This is our only goal, everyone should know that we have no other purpose than that."

Turkish security forces have ramped up their efforts against PKK terrorists at home and across the country's borders and have been carrying out successful operations to eliminate senior terrorists.

Since 2016, Turkey has launched a trio of successful anti-terrorism operations across its border in northern Syria to prevent the formation of a terror corridor and enable the peaceful settlement of residents: Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018), and Peace Spring (2019).

While the country liberated northwestern territories from Daesh, it also prevented the YPG from establishing a de facto autonomous region in Syria connecting the northwestern Afrin canton to the Ain al-Arab and Jazeera cantons in the northeast, which Ankara describes as a "terror corridor" posing a grave threat to its national security.

Turkish security forces regularly conduct counterterrorism operations in the eastern and southeastern provinces of Turkey, where the PKK has attempted to establish a strong presence and bases. The TSK also carries out cross-border operations in northern Iraq, a region where PKK terrorists have hideouts and bases from which to carry out attacks in Turkey, with particular attention paid to targeting high-level terrorists.

Turkey has long been stressing that it will not tolerate terrorist threats posed against its national security and has called on Iraqi officials to take the necessary steps to eliminate the terrorist group. Ankara previously noted that if the expected steps were not taken, it would not shy from targeting terrorist threats.

In its more than 40-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU – has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.

You are acting like as if Erdogan uses the army to his whims.

You do realise that erdogan is under pressure to launch a campaign because the TSK is really getting tired of erdogans bs.

Their hands are tied even warned the government that they may take matters into their owns.

This does not mean a coup but basically operations and a campaign to clean terrorists. If we cant clean the area of terrorists other means will be tried I think like drone strikes.

TSK is growing fustrated with lack of action. 33 soldiers getting killed by Russia in 2020 was the last straw.

HTS crushed remaining rebel groups not under its authority in Idlib at areas like Turkmen mountains. The Azeri group was exiled to Afrin. HTS Islamic emirate dominant force now in Idlib, minimal SNA influence.

Unlike its namesake, I doubt Turkmen live anywhere near here anymore, HTS rules with iron fist.

HTS also expanding into SNA areas like Afrin, Ra's Al ayn
